All my fan leaves are dying week 3.5 flower

Im growing 5 different plants under a 400hps and all of them have lost most of their fan leaves. It starts at the bottom and works its way all the way to just under the cola. They have almost no fan leaves. They are within 6 inches of the light and the temps range from 70-85 day to night and humidity from 30-65 day to night. The bud sites are developing alright, but the fanleaves turn yellow and fall off. Bud sites might be slightly slightly stunted but normal formation and crystals starting to come one. Not sure whats up

nothing, they are in miracle grow potting soil though
Do you think i should start feeding them? I have miracle grow tomato feed (i know alot of people hate MG) but this stuff is 18-18-21 npk and used on tomato plants so must be safe

Heres my White widow day 25 flower. Its pretty characteristic of the other 4 in terms of bud size and no fan leaves.

got pics of your setup? could be tons of issues....that plants looks..naked haha, not just no fan leaves, it is just one cola!! can't imagine you would get much yield off plants that look like that. again i think a shot of your grow area would help diagnose the issue.

Yo, I had the same issue. You gotta feed it, man. I think it has to do with the plant redistributing it's energy to producing the buds. The miracle gro soil only has enough nutrients to last for so long.

i would definitely get some water soluble veg nutes man just call up your local hydro and they will help you out cause unless the soil is brand new and even in that case you might want more N to produce big healthy buds

The plant has an issue with its roots as they are not able to produce enough moisture, etc for the plant. This is why the plant is feeding from its fan leaves. Repot the plant into some fresh soil and be sure the plantpot and soil has good drainage. When I use dirt I put an adequite layer of gravel in the bottom of the plantpot and I cut my potting soil 50/50 with good earth that has good drainage. There are other things you can cut into your potting soil to ensure good drainage. When you water your plant as required you should always get seepage from your plantpot if everything is done properly.

Im using bio-bloom and green sensation at the moment and think i need to increase the N intake, is there anything on the market that can provide just that? Or can upping the nutes help?

its 9 bubbleberry clones under a 600w light, soil grow, good temps, in week 5 of flower...

John,

It sounds to me like the plants used up all the available nitrogen in the soil and are now stealing it from the fan leaves. I grow in MG potting soil also and around about week 5 I start giving them some light doses of extra fertilizer so that doesn't happen. I'd go ahead and given them a full strength dose of that 18-18-21 MG tomato food you say you've got. I'd also add some Epsom Salt to the mix (@ 1/2 tsp/gallon) to insure they've got enough Mg (magnesium).

First off lose the miracle grow it's not good for the roots it burns them. Everyone I know who's used it had nothing but problems. You are better off using Alaska fish fertilizer for bloom instead or go to a hydro store and buy some kind of bloom fert

I use MG and love it. Check out the comparison grow going on right now between MG and FFOF and it may surprise you a bit.
