Aliens....Do You Believe?

To the OP original question. No. To all the people who "Want" to believe let me give you some facts. The fastest recorded ship/drone/probe that mankind, sorry humans launched into space was the Parker Solar Probe that reached a speed of 364,660mph at perihelion which is the closest to the sun's orbit. So at that speed which a craft would need to use the suns gravitational force to achieve it would take 7818 years to reach the closest star Alpha Centuri or Proxima B the planet associated with it.

With that said unless there was even a possibility of "Folding space" as others have suggested which isnt going to happen we will never visit these places, nor will anything if there was existed reach us. These are facts, sci-fi is the only realm your going to use to rebut this! and like the poster that Mulder has in his office from the X-files "I want to believe" should be a key in understanding the human desire to believe something that doesn't exist. People want to believe in life forms from other worlds, so far its been blurry video, blurry pics and hear say. But I know someone will respond to the fact that im stupid....ect
Humans in general want to believe in something as it's a grounding mechanism. I find the alien thing fascinating. My daughter on her way to see me one Halloween night went through the manned gate, down and around the corner passing the lake when what did she spot hovering low over the lake? When she got to my door; she was in a state that disturbed me because she couldn't make sense of what she saw how close it was to her and drew a pic of it..arrow like with red lights, silent. Others caught it..YT Coral Springs Florida UFO.

We do have 11 Dimensions mathematically proven, yet we see 3.

I do agree with your assessment on aliens..the only thing that bothers me is that all the presidents have been asked about existence since Area 51 and all have said 'no' except Obama who said 'I can't tell you'. Hmmmm kind of curious about that; I consider Obama to be very honest as presidents go.

Just laughing at the billionaires new rocket ships. Where do they think they're going? They're going to need a lot of fuel to get there. Fusion is 1000 years away. + how are they going to keep their insides from turning to jelly?

Time folding is interesting..there are many possibilities in this world. We don't know everything. I do believe in preternatural occurrence until it is determined fact or debunked.

So, 7818 years .It's not science fiction to imagine a self replicating autonomous project populating a whole galaxy in a couple million years then.Fastest recorded by mankind ,We've been industrialized for 100 years. We're still In the womb as a species.People 200 years ago thought they knew everything, too.

the thing is...discoveries ARE slowing down. but it may not be for lack of new things to discover, it may be because the process is getting too involved, and the information density is too great for most people.

But the tech you use to comment here is ok,right? It didn't kill us all.I like talking with you Roger, but your Nihilism is alarming. This technology will develop and it will do the heavy lifting for us like machines do.The earth is already proliferated by enough nuclear weapons to destroy us 10 times over.Dont you think that might be more alarming than a robot girlie to talk to?

false equivalency...the tech we use here can't write malicious code, it can't write students term papers, it can't act as human beings to scam people...The "heavy lifting" you refer to is THOUGHT...it is teaching people to let it think for them. there is no possible scenario where that works out well.
and who says i'm not already alarmed about nuclear proliferation?

Technology will March on long after you and I are dust,my friend. This will barely be a bump on the trail.

Did someone say nihilism? :D
The future of technology as our slave or our master is good stuff. I guess it depends on if emergence theory is correct about consciousness, we could make or facilitate the making of an artificial consciousness through networking computer systems. If we make reality Internet Of Things machinery, then it could manipulate the real world. And the need for energy resources would lead to conflicts. Matrix.
If the human mind can be linked to machinery, then perhaps we would ditch the monkey body so that we could survive space. If life is bigger than humans, we could just be a means to an end. And the machine may have been the evolutionary goal.
We have coated the planet in petroleum, much less the nuclear arms and waste, so that the continuation of life as we know it is under some scrutiny and in doubt of the ability to continue.

So I'm one of the people who waste a lot of time watching alien videos on the Internet. Conspiracy theories, phony YouTube videos, kinda convincing videos (but not really). There are a ton of theories out there. That Egyptian Kings were really aliens that taught us language and other things. That aliens are still here and the Men in Black really exist. That the secret service are really aliens. That aliens are in the other side of the moon and told us not to come back there. And all the multiple alien sightings and grainy ass videos that you can barely see. So what do you guys believe? I definately believe in alien life. As to whether they are aliens on this planet or not.... I haven't decided.
it's 2023_now. Bob Lazar should of convinced everyone in 2005 when the unstable form of element 115 was discovered and added to periodic table. He mentioned it years earlier before 115 existed. The stable element 115. We haven't found stable element yet! But it obviously exists. Saw saucer around 40 years ago. Wasn't ours! The ocean is 80% unexplored, land ??? Unexplored. Underground 90% unexplored. You tell me that we are it! Pfffft. Alien Fucked a Sasquatch! Homo sapien sapien up! You can evolve from monkeys of you want, I was created by a master race that took earthly creatures from the abzu and genetically altered them with their genes and the clays of the earth. Let us create them in our likeness. Isn't it funny that clay has same colours as people? As far as new tek I use an old tablet and go on riu and fb, you tube on tv. Leds for girls are newest tek! Or nutes!

seriously though....what if people on Earth are like pets in windows? Like, you can't let your pets out because they'll pee on stuff to try and make it their territory, get in crazy loud fights over that territory, and piss off all the neighbors. Try and wrap your head around that shit.

The Van Allen radiation belt, Is that our window? Don't think so, Our solar system then?... Maybe?

I've got 6 strays and they train you not you them. My cats knock because it's polite! So I answer and let them in or out! Dumb people have dumb animals!
true that! my cat looks people square in the eyes, plays in the yard with my daughter, tells us when he wants in or out, and even tries enunciating english words. animals are definitely capable of way more than being window ornaments and self esteem boosting lap warmers. I've always told my daughter that animals are just people in different bodies.
aliens probably think we're a bunch of jerks for making species our "pets".

if you live far enough away from big cites that cause light pollution you can see them scooting about in the earths upper Atmosphere if you wait long enough, i used to be a sceptic and tell my missus theres no such thing, but i seen way too many now with my own eyes and showed em to people
and not satellites in earths orbit, craft changing directions and stopping then taking off somewhere

shit :eyesmoke: the men in black are here :weed:
