Algae and a couple other questions. Please help an indoor newbie.

I have Algae.. It just started the greening yesterday and I covered the clear cups with red cups so no more light to the root system. Do I need to do anything else to clear out the algae or just let them go on. I was told that the algae will die off now with no light if it was just starting to green up.

I have another question if u dont mind. I have 18 seed starts and they are on their 5th node. With the limited space I have 4' x 4'x 5 1/2' is it possible to transplant them into 2 gallon pots and leave them in the 2 gallons until they are finished? I dont have them sexed yet and I also wanted to know if I should top them before transplant or transplant and then top them?

I have 2 larger females that are about half way through veg so I'm trying to figure out the best way to do this grow.

Should I clone off the 2 larger females (very good but unknown strain) or go with the Lemon Haze seedlings and take my chances on female or male? The other option is to just keep the 2 larger females in veg longer and switch them all to flower when the seedlings get going more..?? I have no camera cord to upload pics but I will take some with the computer webcam when the light goes off tonight. Thank you much for the help and advise..

I really appreciate any and all advise. Thanks brothers and sisters. Peace to you all

If you have alge, you are watering too frequently and your humidity it too high. One usually leads to the other. More airflow would be very helpful.

Two gallon pots will bring small plants to harvest just fine, you just have to give them less veg time.

Use an enzyme concentrate like Sensizym or Hygrozyme the enzymes break down the algae and turn it into food for the plant
