according to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sun

the surface of the sun is 5510 degrees Celsius

thats 9950 F

so according to al gore, the earths core is hotter than the surface of the sun :roll:

I imagine it is pretty hot, I doubt anyone has actually measured it. a million degrees farenheit = 555,810.kelvin. Just for comparison.

I like how you take one small part of a statement then all the sudden he has no idea what he's talking about and is a idiot. Geothermal is a proven method of making heat and power. Hate him or love him the principles he describes are right. JR

there isnt any science that says the earth is warming either but that doesnt stop gore.

the climate is changing... i don't know if it's warming, or cooling, or what... but we are contaminating the planet... and yes, it will survive, the planet's been through much worse, but technology is at a point where if it is explored and developed, clean energy can be achieved...

cap n trade is too complicated, i can just see the lack of oversight and waste of money unfold..... but i would like to see humans search for alternative sources of energy.........

the fact is he very comfortably spouted non-studied BS, if the core is "several millions degrees" why does any of the earth get cold enough to freeze most anything. yet our planted cant get too much closer without killin the earth, 9900-ish degrees, such a small percentage of several million.

Well a Bic flame gets to 5000 degrees Fahrenheit... Half the temp of the Sun, I could imagine the core of the Earth is hotter than the surface of the Sun.

Hey I'm not a Gore fan in any way shape or form (all govt for that matter), just saying that Geothermal is proven to work with minimal impact on the environment when done in a responsible manner. JR

A few years ago in SoCal we starting noticing the Albacore tuna running around longer into late summer. They tend to like cooler waters versus their relative the Yellow Fin Tuna which runs in the late summer to early fall. The waters began to get cooler over the next couple of years. Suddenly there is all this "earth cooling" talk.

Fisherman look to the sea for answers about lots of things. If the ocean is cooler than normal my guess is things will be cooler. Vice versa as well. Many of the terms we use in standard conversation started on a boat many hundreds or possibly thousands of years ago. It was the only "fast" means of transportation.

It's possible the answer to almost everything may lie below the surface of the ocean.

My guess is that once all the whistle blowers come clean over the next few years we are going to learn a lot more about what is fact and what isn't. I'm very curious to find out what we have not been told.

The climate has changed very quickly where I live. A few of weeks ago we were having weather in the 90s. Now, Its raining like crazy and at night it gets down to under 40 degrees. Where I live, we call this "seasons."
