Air stone question

What are some good ways of stopping an air stone from floating? Can I just get some water proof adhesive and glue it to the bottom?

Rofl. No. You need to just weight it down man. Some bolts in a ziploc bag or some shit.

Nonono. Bare metal in nute solution is a no no.
Just tie a ziploc bag full of heavy stuff to it if you HAVE TO. You should be using 4" cylinder stones for dwc anyways and they definitely do not float.

Cool I will keep that in mind. I was gonna go get a flat disc but maybe I'll go for cylinder instead.

instead of an airstone make a waterfall. you'll get twice the dissolved o2 as long as you res temps are good and low.

I've never seen an airstone float. What kind of airstones are you using?

only ones i've seen float at all are the bubble curtain ones with the plastic base

If you turn off the air and let the airstone soak for a bit it won't float...

Zip ties and stainless steel bolts. Stainless steel and titanium can be safely used, but titanium is not very heavy.
