don't know, never tryed it. it's pretty cheap stuff, try a couple boxes
I tried a box of baking soda with a few plants in my closet and it did almost no good at all. I could still smell it all over the apartment most of the time. What I have been reading is carbon filters work best. My current plants are only 3 1/2 weeks old, but so far the filter I put in front of an out take fan has been doing pretty good.

maybe u should wait until u graduate high school and get a place of your own before u go ahead and get in serious trouble for something you have absolutely no means of accomplishing anyway. they will find out.

Actually if you click on the link I put on the word carbon filter in my previous you will see a page on here that shows how to make them for 3 dollars. Then all you need is a fan by the plants blowing the air away from them and onto the filter. I hear that works well as long as the filter you make is large enough to absorb the majority of the wind generated by the fan.

I personally got a 4 inch fan from wallmart for 7 dollars cut a hole in the top of my cabinet shelf and screwed the fan in place. Then added a 6 inch flexible duct above it and directed that out a hole in the back of the cabinet that I put a 5 dollar vent cover on. Total cost was 3 dollars for filter, 7 for the fan, 10 for the flexible duct, and 5 for a vent to put my filter in. So $31. And mine actually looks pretty good, not like a cheap quick fix.

i use a.. See below... It cost me £99.00 UK...It works a treat. I grow 4 plants in my roof space, or attic for the yanks out there. and you can hardly smell a thing. I would strongly recommend.
Ok Ozone Generator

matty, you're link doesn't work for me. I assume you're talking about something very similar to this

http://www.businesslights.com/cap-ozn1-ozone-generator-up-to-5500-sq-ft-p-1865.html

I have one and it more than met my expectations. Don't get me wrong carbon filters work great too and I have one but this eliminates everything that escapes when I open the door or through cracks in the walls/ceiling etc. Don't put close to your plants! Works best in a "neutral zone" between your plants and the outside world, such as an attic.

Sorry mate that wasn't a link.. I'm a bit of a retard when i type at times... I just mean't the Ozone Generator.. I found it to work really well. I grow in the roof space, or attic if you like... I have 4 plants and can't smell a thing.

right on man. I too am a big fan of the O3 generators. Even if you don't grow herb but just smoke it. The ozone is amazing at removing the smoke smell from the air. Most of those high dollar Ionic Breeze units have an ozone generator which is really what fights the odor. The charged plates catch particulates but it's the ozone that makes the room smell like a fresh rainstorm.

i didnt say anything about harvesting i was tellin him that he needs to do some more research and it will pay off....
I think he is referring to this post about odor elimination being in the harvesting and curing section. I will put up the minor argument that during curing the smell is the most potent so there is a small relation :)

As far as O3 generators I have been doing some research and I don't want to make any wild claims, but it looks like O3 might be bad for people. Here is a link to an EPA brochure about it http://airnow.gov/index.cfm?action=static.ozone2#3 , but by all means do your own research into it. Don't just take my word for it. There are lots of sources that argue both sides and some that say it is both good and bad. All I know is I have experienced some problems from it since I have asthma and chronic bronchitus which makes it more problematic to me. Even a tiny little ionic air purifier that put of O3 only as a biproduct of ionization I immediatly had problems with. I am not saying they don't work great for odor removal and I have never heard anything about it being bad for plants. Just things with lungs.

I gunna have to agree with this. What are the odds that you are going to be able to keep this from your parents for 3 months. Hell 4 with drying and curing
It would be a real shame to put months of effort and love into some plants just to have them trashed right before harvest because they smell a lot.
I dont think you will be able to grow it without your parents consent. Have you tried being honest with them? Explain yourself and see how it goes. It sounds retarded but you never know

edit: interesting link about the O3 generators

bingo! no offence anyone i didnt mean any. i dont mind threads that are iffy on wether they they have anything to do with the topic they are in but besides the smell part (also he hasnt started yet, if he was in flower or how to control smell b4 harvesting and asked i could understand) its got NOTHING to do w/harvest or curing though. on the question of what to use i use an air filter and have all other openings air tight so it has to go through it. but i wouldnt worry about veg smell and the first half of flowering smell. mine didnt start to stink till it was pretty far into flower, do ur parents know u smoke? if yes if they ask about smell say u just smoked a bowl and thats why it smells
