Air purifier question.

Off the top of my head i'd say to a certain extent. It will certainly help kill off any microbes floating in the air and prevent mold growing from that, but not sure if it would help keep mold from forming in the guts of the bud itself, hopefully someone else could help with this question more than I.

My conclusion would be to use both a dehumidifier and an air purifier. I use both, and my air purifier increases humidity a bit. Run them on opposite sides, in a circulatory pattern if possible. Since heat rises put the dehumidifier higher than the air purifier. The purifier will cleanse the air from the ground up and allow the air to be clean and dry or clean and wet. Depending upon various circumstances.

Short answer to the question would be yes. It will help to prevent mold. Keeping temperatures cool, maintaining clean dryish air is all that's needed.

I have noticed the Ionizer function being taken off of certain Honeywell models, I wonder if there are some health concerns when using them or if they weren't cost effective to produce?

I like the little Ionizer... I really don't know if it works to clean the air...
I use mine to move air and circulate...
I use dollar store sink sponges [pink/yellow/blue] cheapo ones for filter replacement, that seem to work, and I mean, I am cleaning them....
$1.00 filter not $7.75 for a Heppa...

how does your air purifier increase humidity? It does not add any water to the air.

The ionizers are known to adversely effect some asthamatics (not all). They do produce a small amount of ozone, even though they were not meant to be ozone producers. The poorly made ones produce more ozone.

Never said it added water.
It blows cold air, my room gets warm.
Warm + cold = humidity.
There you go.
doesn't it blow ambient air temp ? and doesn't any fan add heat to the air but appear to cool since it moves heat from one area to another?

It may blow ambient, but at the speed it is moving the air it gets cold.
It may also add heat to the air, I know lights sure do....
Everybody's home or room is going to be different based upon the humidity of their region.

oh btw I like you I am running an ionizer air purifier for clean air as well as a humidifier (mostly during night cycle) to keep out excess moisture :)
