Air intake into tent during flowering

Hello - first I'm posting from iphone and struggling w typing!

I'm 2wks into flowering and my plants are now taking up 2 3rds of my 1m1m1.8m text. I've noticed last few days when I open tent I get a blast of smelly damp air. Like they're suffocating. I've been opening tent 20 mins a few times a day during light cycle but it's when convenient which isn't always.

My question (finally) is

Is it worth opening a hole in side of tent for air in, room is dark door shut window closed. Or is that too much of. Risk for bugs etc and better to keep shut?

I know I shd buy an intake fan but cash/time/fear of leki bill is malimg me ask.

Today was first time I felt plants had made humidity.

Thanks!

you definitely need air in, if you can't get a fan just leave something open in the tent for a passive intake. try leave window open a tiny bit to let fresh in.

I keep the flaps (whatever they are called) on the bottom of my tent open its 4 of them on each side. Air comes in thru these and go out the 6" top hole thats on top of my tent for ducting to run out of. Cold air from the bottom hot air floats out the top.

I keep my lower vent flaps closed and use enough ducting out the bottom 8" cone vent , so the ducting has enough to coil around so no light sneaks in. I exhaust out the top with a 4" can fan on a 14" filter.
