air conditioner and dehumidifier.

I have a 14000 BTU duel hose to cool my room, have a dehumidifier next to it to keep the humidity down. I find my humidity spiking up to 68, then my dehumidifier turnes back on, though I have it on the constant setting, it is a 70 pint unit. This is the evening. My daytime temp and humidity is a zero issue. Before i turned on my Ac I had zero issues with humidity. It would stay constant. Is my Dehumidifier to close to my Ac? I am not in a sealed room, intake and out. Room size is 4x 12 with 2 1000. . I have grown for 30 years I am just being stupid here.

You could try placing the dehumidifier farther from you AC unit, perhaps nearer to your humidity gauge. Maybe empty the AC's pan more often?
