After Germination? (Quick question(s))

Quick question(s).

After I germinate and I place the seeds in the rockwool (root down, if it's even called a "root") do I water/wet the rockwool before I put it in another dark place to sprout? If so, how much, and how often do I re-wet it?

About how long does it take to sprout?

Also if anyone has any suggestions on a solid temperature for the Veg room, that'd be appreciated as well.

Thanks!!!

I don't nor have I ever used rockwool. I have read that it should be kept damp but not soaking wet. They should sprout (depending on how deep they were planted) within a couple days or so. I have found the best temp for my veg room is about 75F. Good luck.

I don't use rockwool cubes, but I've read you should presoak them in properly ph'd water before use. Properly done, you should see a sprout within 36 hrs average (could be more or less) after germination. 75F is a good temp for your veg room. Check out the FAQ at the top of the page, lots of great reading there - it will answer a lot of the questions you may have. Good luck!

2/2 not using rockwool... damn.

Well how are you guys doing it? I've read some bad things about rocKwool. They'll eventually move into pellets, but that's beside the fact.

How do you germinate/seedling?

I usually germ into a damp paper towel and then into a 50/50 mix of perlite & Sunshine mix #1. Now I clone only. I use a fog cloner and straight into hempy cups with 20% vermiculite and 80% perlite.

I usually presoak the seed(s) for 12hours or so. Put them in a moist paper napkin, in a tupperware container until it sprouts, and then into the medium (soil or peat pellet). Covered until the baby breakes the surface.:peace:
