After 8 Weeks of Flowering

I too have been in the game several decades, having said that i will explain my reasoning, new growers rarely work with sexually mature strains, most go from seed as this grower does,a plant that came from fresh seed stock will not respond nowhere nearly as fast as a plant grown from clones that were taken from a sexually mature mother plant.

To the op,get a scope as allready mentioned & i'd bet the bank the trichs on yer plant are cloudy or a milky color with very little (if any) honey colored trichs, plants grown from seed are alot slower to bud because they are rarely allowed to reach sexual maturity before going into bud.
I bet that they are still clear.

Wow that's a good stretch. How's the smoke?
its the stinks like hell, anyone who comes in knows when ive got it, the taste is bitter and very skunky, seems to come on gentle then just when you think thats it boof hits you like a hammer, prob only takes half hour or so to get off the chair but after a while turns into a long lasting energetic get up and go, whistle a tune big smile on face, happy thoughts. id say it has a few layers to it,

yep. started counting from switch to 12/12. I think I will see in another week if anything changes for the better and decide again whether to keep it another week or not...
You should always separate the two. What I mean is.. once you switch the lights over to 12/12.. this is actually called the 'transition' period/cycle. Where the plant transitions (changes) from its veg cycle.. to its flowering cycle (once the flowering hormone is triggered).

You should never count the grow as being in its 'flowering cycle'.. until the plant(s) actually start flowering. Otherwise.. you could end up harvesting weeks early.. which will ruin your harvest/final product.

Once the plant(s) actually begin to flower (show sex).. once you see the plant has shown its sex to ya (started flowering).. the day you notice it.. is the day you should count as being day #1 of flowering.

Anyhow.. good luck man.

Another thing to keep in mind.. is whenever you think your plant(s) are ready for harvest.. wait one more week. Just to be safe.. rather than sorry. ;)

just trying to help educate the noobs..

peace.

Am I an asshole...or am I the ONLY one thinking "You know...There's a thread for this already..."

But yea, they look great man, check the trics for sure though, only real way to KNOW. If you can't, then maybe give em a week to flush (if thats your thing) and harvest.
Good luck!

and when did ed do the research.....20 yers ago lol,,,,,,,,,,,,
Sheesh, nobody said you knew nothing but sexual maturity is a fact that has been researched to death & accepted as fact.

Ed's research was decades ago but lets not forget that he also discovered that there is a peak harvest window that is dictated by the maturity of trichomes.

Del66666 you must agree though not every plant is gonna be bomb when you go 12/12 from seed as in bad phenos or just a crappy strain. But don't get me wrong I like what you do And will try it myself when I have room.....Also I use smart pots what size do you rec. for 12/12 from seed?

My Blueberry Gum is 8 weeks also and the trichs are still clear and it almost looks exactly lke your first picture. Another week for me. Peace, jethead
I cut my BBG when almost all were cloudy and a few red ones. It also had about 2-3 blue trichs on each leaf!

Was a great high. I think i will always chop when cloudy + first sight of red.

I've been growing for a long time and all I ever do is look at the trichs to see when it is ready, I've never bothered working out the weeks but I was always under the impression that the amount of weeks of flowering that the seed banks suggest was always from the first sign of hairs, but, I was reading the "ask Ed" site the other day and Mr Rosenthal says it is from the very first day of 12/12. Now he's the expert, so he knows , it's just that I never bothered counting before.

Here's a lesson I learned. Last outdoor one plant was confusing cause of clear and cloudy and some amber all at once so when I was around week 8 I trimmed off a air bud from the bottom dried it out fast in a wood box with a fan in dark took maybe 8-9 hrs till smokable and wasn't ready waited a week did the same and it was good to go.
Don't count days just keep in mind where you are at but if it takes longer don't freak out cause that's what I did on first and its stressful and this ain't supposed to be that.
