After 8 Weeks of Flowering

Do you think it's ready?
How much time do you estimate is needed to make it ready?

Looks ripe to me, you really have to look under a microscope to see. They say when about 75% of the white hairs turn redish brown then you're there. You can get a little 30x with a light on it at radio shack or your local hydroponics store. What strain is it? Indica or Sativa?

Looks pretty ready to me. Definitely need to check out the trichomes for personal preference.

Looks to me that you have about 3 weeks to go before harvest,plants that are fully reaady will exibit a 2nd growth spurt & start packing on new calyxs,when this happens they are ready.

Question,did you start your day count as soon as you put the lights on 12/12,if so you did not allow any time for the transitional period from veg to bud,transition period is normally about 10 to 14 days.

yep. started counting from switch to 12/12. I think I will see in another week if anything changes for the better and decide again whether to keep it another week or not...

I too have been in the game several decades,having said that i will explain my reasoning,new growers rarely work with sexually mature strains,most go from seed as this grower does,a plant that came from fresh seed stock will not respond nowhere nearly as fast as a plant grown from clones that were taken from a sexually mature mother plant.

To the op,get a scope as allready mentioned & i'd bet the bank the trichs on yer plant are cloudy or a milky color with very little (if any) honey colored trichs,plants grown from seed are alot slower to bud because they are rarely allowed to reach sexual maturity before going into bud.

surely if they werent sexually mature they wouldnt be able to bud?

I get what panhead is saying. Had side by side strains that one was started earlier than other then both kicked 2 12/12 and the older one flowered faster.....I've been told when nodes are alternating then she is ready.
But ya get a 30x-100x pocket microscope with light

i agree with panhead .. first off ive been told by some of the best growers and from personal experience. i count the 10-14 day transition period as just that .. the transition period.. wen i start to seed buds actually forming on every spot about 10 days in to 12/12 is wen ill start to count flowering.. ive got some that went 10 days trans and now are at 12 days of flowering.. and man.. do these buds look amazing already i cant wait to see wat they look like in 7-10 more weeks.. i can almost guarentee if i didnt count my transition period .. and counted from day one of 12 and 12.. id proly harvest a little early and not get what i was supposed to ..

It makes perfect sense but your statement is wrong,just because a female buds is not assurance of sexual maturity,plants that are put into bud that are less than 6 months old are rarely at peak sexual maturity.

A clone taken from a 9 month old mother plant will go into full heavy bud much faster than a plant from seed thats had a 4 to 6 week veg cycle,not only will it finish faster the mature clone plant will yeild vast amounts more than the sexually immature female.

Facts i qoute are from my learned experience according to Ed Rosenthalls many years of research on the subject.

well these are 12-12 from seed, flowered fast and top quality....but i know nothing.......some flowered at 2 1/2 weeks old, finished by 11 and returned 2-3 oz per plant dry..

My Blueberry Gum is 8 weeks also and the trichs are still clear and it almost looks exactly lke your first picture. Another week for me. Peace, jethead

cheers mate,was a 400 dual spec and euro reflector but nowi use the 400 and a 600 dual and diamond reflector, in coco using hesi nutes..hammerhead pk.......the biggest is my own breed called bubblebomb....its a thc bomb x bubblegum
