Nice to hear dude all the best with your kundoz I have seen it in a cross the other day think the breeder was Gibbskutz. Kundoz 18 if I remember and I believe it was a hashplant type of strain. I do love a classic indie I do!

Agreed, I was lucky enough to get 2 to germ out of 10 seeds. Took like 3 days for tails to pop on the ones that made it, the rest never really took off. Hoping for a male and female out of these two but it is what it is, price you pay for running old world genetics.

Very stoked, the Rustam Kush seeds turned out to be a male and a female. They took awhile to veg but I just basically kept them on the back burner. About week 3 and 4 of flower and i coated the females about 3 different times with pollen and all the seed sacks are swelling at week 5. She is already getting greasy and some nice terps i can not explain, bud formation is nice and tight. I was bummed at first when 2 seeds popped but it is turning out ok. Cant wait to run this batch of seeds and get a real hunt going.

it's strange that more people didn't get the seeds or fewer even popped them. Well you only live once and i need to get back to work on the R/D project list. I'm at least a year behind right now
I dug into the collection and grabbed Kholm from the first release and Scholgar from the 2018 collection
I have been waiting even since i purchased the to pop all of them
those 2 went into water the other day and 50/50 tap/3% hydrogen chemical scarification Snow High recommended seems to have helped most to crack already but i did do the 48 hour in the freezer before hand to mimic coming out of dormancy and to kill off anything coming from the collection in situ in afghan. Also listened to the pot cast with Ace seeds and it gave a lot of good info on what to look for in these heirloom/landrace seeds
higher herm in the first 2 generations,
most landrace populations in that area afghan/india/hindu being semi auto flowering. which means that you can keep clones etc but certain stresses (whatever the plant sees as a stress) can send them into flowering very fast. so they will bolt for flowering if they are unhappy. It's a wild/landrace trait for survival no matter what.
the first couple generations will run into the bolting for flowering and random herm simply because the plants want real sun and really dislike artificial light.
Also most landrace population from that area also have a varied cannabinoid ratios CBD,CBG,CBN/ THC Mostly High THC or High CBD dominance
From those 4 factors alone they will have to be selected through a couple generations to remove the unwanted traits also i will need basic lab tests to check for actual CBD/THC % to get the unwanted cultivars out of the population.

The first thing i have on the list is to open pollenate both of them. that way i can get the numbers i need to actually hunt through the population correctly.
The next step is to do and F2 on that generation and really get to see the ancient lineage of these amazing old world strains. It's like traveling back in time in situ and reliving the silk road, the hippy trail, and other classic expeditions throughout the past

i can verify the poor germination rates.... i had a pack of sholgar only had 8 of 12 make it past germination. out of that only 6 made it to veg
i have 3 really good looking ones and 3 that look like polyploid not opposite leaf's like the others but its a circle of new fan leaf's its strange
i also tried to pop a pack of mazar and kholm 0 germination. and that was after freezing them to reverse dormancy and chemical scarification of the seeds to soften the shell.... same were done to sholgar and they were fine
those pack were from the initial offering in 2018 they were collected in 2016 or 2017 maybe they are just getting old
but i had 0 survive of kholm and mazar
maybe this is a warning to everyone with the older packs pop them NOW and do a open pollination preservation ASAP or they might be gone forever
i'll post pictures of the sholgars i have going now

same with the Balkh had about 3 make it , bought them in 2018 but i did make some seeds with the best female out of the 2. used a good maple leaf indica male. Then did a simulated open pollination of about 3 males 7 females of the Balkh X Maple Leaf Indica in a tent around January Plan on working the line more

I would to see some pic of that sholgar! I got me a pack for preservation and maybe breeding ideas. I opened it just to check if beans were good. They looked nice and mature. Out of the 10beans they sent one bean was not a bean but a rock that looked like a bean!!!!! So really I got 9 beans. Idk I guess it's just bad luck for me. Haven't tried to pop them yet as my hands are full at the moment. Please post some pics and give a smoke report. Much appreciated
