Hey all, been growing for about a year now and couldnt have been succesful without RIU. I've been growing in soil first with T-5 flouresent and then switched to Coco. Now i am told i can get much better Bud growth and density with LED. I am on somewhat of a budget (Doctors, chemo etc.). is there an affordable way in to LED??? Here is a pic of last T-5 grow......

Looks dope already, what's the price range you're considering affordable? It varies among people you know...
You could find a good deal on some Blackstar 240's on Ebay around 2-250 a piece now since their new "chrome"
line is coming out, so their older stuff will be getting cheaper. Kessil's are very good quality but you need
several of them to get decent coverage.

Budget LED is tough. If you have soldering/electrical skills it makes it easier (cheaper and better performance from building your own). What you could do would be to keep the T5s and add smaller LED Panels/SMDs around the grow to get more light on bud sites, which will increase density, growth and trich production, without killing the electricity bill. Watch out for white LEDs for now, they vary wildly in performance and a new way of making whites is coming out that will increase output 25% or more . Reds and blues would help "peak out" your T5s, which probably have pretty good spectrum coverage. Best of Luck in your choices and Happy Growing!

I use area51 because they are cheap and reliable, but not that cheap, i'd honestly say you dont need to, your T-5 grow looks great man, if you had a SCROG under there you could pick up p-p-p-plenty of sweet buds

EDIT: the other suggestion on extra side lighting and whut are good too

I'd consider just continuing with the T5's you have and supplementing your flower with red dominant/flower spectrum LEDs. Try out the Kessils like dolamic said. They have a H150 Magenta (36 watts actual draw) or H350 Magenta (90 watt actual draw), which would be the right spectrum for the flowering period. I have my doubts about Blackstar noting how many people have said their LEDs have gone out not long after their 1 year warranty--you can see another post about that on the front page of this sub right now. Growers House has a deal on kessil leds on sale right now: https://growershouse.com/kessil
