Aerogarden vs. Pot and soil

Hey guys,

I was just wondering if it would be worth it to spend the 200 bucks to get an aerogarden Pro 200 or whether i should just use a smart pot with some soil? this will be my first time growing and i plan on growing the strain Lowryder #2 X AK47. Would the aerogarden be sufficient enough to support one or two plants? Also, Would i need to suppliment in a HPS light for vegetative growth for an autoflowering plant or are cfls enough to take it through an entire life cycle?

Smart pot with soil, better flavor and easier to start. I also think it is a cheaper way to get a good start. Just my opinion

Aerogardens will not put off a good yield =/ You can use on through an entite grow easy with the CFL's. Search youtube. I would add some supplemental side lighting of your own for some better growth of course.

2 bills would buy you a nice fairly low wattage HID and you could build a tote like this(see photos) for 60 bux or so, leaving 140 for a light. Paired with the right strain and nutrients (advanced nutrients) these things will produce.You can take it one step further and get a couple 30 dollar ultrasonic foggers and go true aeroponic too.
I intend to produce some of these and sell a few, dunno if they'll catch on but they certainly have me sold.
Of course your objective may not be the same as mine, which is massive yield and the most quality I can get out of them.
Came up with a decent lst system on it too, simple as can be, pvc pipe and eye hooks, gives you the ability to tie your shit down and keep it real even.

Aerogardens are very nice in that it's an all included deal, however, would not suggest using for more than 1-2 plants max. Soil is cheap and easy. It's really up to you. I'd say that if you can find an Aerogarden used for cheap on ebay or craigslist or some other site like that, def go for it! Personally, I wouldn't buy a new one, but then again I'm just really poor. I actually just got a second areogarden (ebay) because of how amazing my first one is. Here's a comparison picture of aerogarden vs. soil. If you get an Aerogarden though, make sure to get a pro or elite model, they're the only ones that the light arm extends to 24", otherwise you'll have to find a way to raise the light past 15" on any other model.

An Aerogarden will very comfortably yield enough for personal and friend use, which is all I'm growing for. If you're looking for massive yields and selling then an Aerogarden is not for you. If you want to see what and Aerogarden can accomplish then search "aerogarden weed" on you youtube.

I heard that in Soil is easier to get some good buds, because you in aero you can't fuck up anything.

i wish i had the cash for an aero garden just because i think the look of it is awesome, but i have limited resources so im just rolling with a five gallon smart pot, FF soil, and a few 6500k CFL's. i figured that would give me enough time to save up and buy a 400w HPS light and some better equipment. but thanks for the opinions, i was wracking my brain for a few days trying to figure out whether to just charge it to a card or save my money. lol

Just look for one used. Even if you just get a working base and use your own lights, your plants will grow so fast and big o.0

the aerogrow.com website has an outlet option and the gardens are about 60 to 70 bucks. thats how i got mine
