I know this has done before but this is my way to do it. I'm hoping that the design will reduce the need for topping and LST (but i will still do if necessary). Anyone with Aerogarden expierence or any ideas/suggestions for the box please let me know

i think you are going to need a better fan. with thhat much light, plus a carbon filter, i dont think a PC fan would cut it. Id suggest a 4" vortex fan.

also, this is just my opinion, side lighting works for big big plants. in cabinets, i learned, light is more effective coming from the top, saturating the canopy rather than the tiny lower bud sites. If you can fit that much light in the box, you are better off having the light at the top in order to get as much light on the canopy as possible.

to me, it doesnt make sense to put lights all around the sides of a box when that space can be utilized to grow a thicker canopy, with the light source(s) at the top.
If you are groing in a box your plants aren't going to be tall, so keep the light above in order to promote bushy growth.

and a canopy doesnt have to mean a SOG or scrog. If you dont have a canopy of green in any grow system you simply arent utilizing your space well enough. thats just thhe way i see it

its all about getting as many colas as you can packed into a tight space under the lamps
LST is a great way to increase bud sites, thus making a nice canopy.

are the fans in the bottom corners for intake?

I know you are going to hate for this....

But what you need is about a 250 HPS in a cool tube... with some real ventilation...

If you are willing to spend a bit of cash and do it right, I can spend the time and help you set it up... but if you are going to stick to PC fans, I will just wish you luck...

I ran 2x 70 HPS plus a 100 MH and got 1.2 oz out of 6" tall plants...

My new grow tent is 36x20x60 and I put a 600 HPS in there...

And with the right ventilation, at 10" from the plants the temp is 75F, and I can bring it down to 65F... 10" from a 600 watt HPS...

Well hit me back if you want to set it up right...

Cheers...

i second that**

HPS may be a bit more money but instead of having like 10 CFLs you could just get 1 250w hps online or two 150w hps from local hardware... 300w hps would get you a MUCH better yield than CFLs, your plants would be diggin the extra light. The HPS penetrates much better than CFLs and you dont have to keep it 1-2inch from the plant which is a bit more convienient..

At least go with the 150w hps.. Its only like 50-60 bucks and you could pull some nice nug with it..

With my tent right now, im gonna go with two 150w hps, so 300w total.... If your gonna take the time to actually flower plants which takes like 3 months you might as well go for the gold ya digg?

Just get an inline fan or vortex fan, and 150w hps light and your yeilds will be much better...
