Aerogarden pump question

Hey guys, my aerogarden arrived today, and i might have gotten a bit ahead of myself. Instead of using the paper towel method to germinate the seeds, i went ahead and put then in the aerogarden medium (sponges). My light is on 24/0 and i think the pumps are on 24/0 too. Anyone know if this would drown my seeds. Also kindof a future question, but how do i go into 12/12 light mode with the garden, cause it doesnt have a set timer, only presets (none of which are 12/12).

im just doing this for experience fletch, not enormous yeilds. I currently can't afford the time needed to build my own system as well, so il be happy with less than an o.

darkness to germinate turn the lights out till they sprout
ok, so it's been two days with lights on waiting to germinate. I just turned the lights off so i should be good now. By the way do seeds have a shelf life?

The sponges are warm and wet, the pumps are always on and its 30 degrees C in the room at all times. I have a basil seed in the garden, kinda as a front, and it already germinated, and no show from the weed seeds.

Fletch I'll definatly do that next time :)

The seeds will take longer in the sponge .. because its not total darkness. the system is set up to run 18hrs and off 6 use the tomatoe setting and relax it takes some time .. also get an air stone and small pump... also dont use any tap water just spring water or rainwater
