My Aerogarden has hot water in resevoir! Anyone heard of this. It used to work great. It doesnt anymore. The hot water keeps the plants green but they dont grow roots and it really doesn not really work at all.

you need a water chller or find a cooler spot for your setup, maybe some reflective foil on the res to reflect back energy from the light, get the chiller on ebay, your growstore or even a pet store, bring those temps down, or else youll get powdery mildew, dead plants or botrytis. Warmer water temps warms the room up more also, and the warmer the room is, the more moisture it can hold. More moisture x warmer temps = The highway to hell

yes dude your water can not be hot. 68F is the definition of chilled.

Aeroponics grows cannabis.....AND algae realllllly fast.

since your res is tiny mebe you can afford to flush frequently with 55-60F tap water.

Also adding a airstone will help provided that you dont blow more HOT air into your res.

The hot water greatly decrease the amount of dissolved oxygen that can be held in you solution. An airstone will help and another technique is to add hydrogen peroxide to your solution. A good starting point is 1000 ppm hydrogen peroxide (roughly 8 tablespoons 3% hydrogen peroxide per gallon of solution). This will prevent root rot and other fungus problems that you will have at these higher temperatures.

1000 ppm of hydrogen peroxide will disappear your plants like a dead body in baltimore. Seriuosly it may vaporize them. 100ppm max will destroy algae. get 35% horticultural grade (actually for hydro)

Your pump might be heating the water if your running it 24/7. also I found that if you fill the res to the Brim and have it off the floor that the water temps stay cooler even with 12 extra CFLS around them... I used 2, 14'' 2x4's and left a space between them and placed the aerogarden on them ,Also I pump fresh air into the water with a air pump and airstone ,, Ive had 2 good grows in it and working on my 3rd now .. Good luck

are we talking about one of those little table top units???
all this talk of chillers and such is tripping me out.
how much water does that little thing hold?

BS, I run 1000 ppm and the plants thrive. 1000 ppm H2O2 with hydro fertilizers in soil and you get hydro performance. I've ran 2000 ppm with no problem.

Perhaps you should actually try it first before making these statements.

BTW, just to slam the point home, here's a DWC using only hydrogen peroxide at 1000 ppm. Amazing....no vaporized roots, in fact they thrive.

im no saying your wrong, but i am astonished you grow in a clear 2 liter and can afford a ec meter. please keep in mind, after your algae is gone cosider the adverse affect you are also getting from killing off all of your micro nutes by using h202.

what kind of ml/gal do you use? All I know is that 100ppm is all you need to kill everything you need to. so i think ur at least wasting the stuff.

on the plus side of growing in a 2L bottle it will require much less hygrozyme after ur h2o2 chills out.

....usually i germinate my clones with about 1800ppm h2o2 btw. Then i use 2500ppm for the autoflowering. is this okay?...
