AEROGARDEN Grow...need assistance

I have recently purchased an aerogarden 6 elite and plan to grow 2 plants out of it to start out, with 2 additional 26W CFLs on the sides (I have both 6500K for vegging and 2700K for flowering),technaflora recipe for success, a standard fan and i was thinking about getting an air pump with airstones bc i heard it was a good investment but im kinda skeptical so i need some advice.....ill post pictures soon

You will need to pick an indica, and flower the plant at 8 inches. Do not expect large yields but the extra light will help. Yes an airstone and an airpump is a good investment, get a dual output pump, its handy incase you need to bubble another container. buy a figure eight power cord from radio shack, unplug your light and with the addition of a timer you can control the lights better by using the power eight power cord. it fits the light power supply perfectly. this is needed because aerogardens do not have a 12 hour cycle built in to them. you have to control the light with a timer.

I would think about going with an auto flower, they dont care what shade of light you throw at them. they will flower independently of the lighting cycle too. most are indica, which gives you a shorter plant.

absolutely, is it a tote style aero? if so, eventually the roots will grow into the water, thats when you need the airstone...

what does tote style mean?
like a large container with a lid and grow sites.. the other aero systems generally have a resevoir and tubing with grow sites.. If yours is the tote style a few airstones would be better, if its an aero with a resevoir (one that the roots will not be submerged into the water/nute mix then just a symple pump will work to stew the resevoir..

heres a tote style aero

aerogarden indeed has a pump, but the aerogarden 6 uses a weak ass air pump, so adding one stone would help the plants. As for the ufo, dont get the low power ones, they cant support anything past seedling. I was reading of one guy using a 90 watt led but i havent read of his results yet.

the aerogarden 7 has 7 pods, the ag7 has tubes and uses a water pump to deliver water to the plants. a ag6 uses a simple air pump.

i also just purchased my additional lighting system that i like better,
Dual Spectrum II High Output Fluorescent Light Kit
+1 vegetative bulb
+1 flowering bulb

let me guess, from stealth hydro? I bought my reflector from there.
the rena 50 will be fine for one garden. Get a 5 inch stone from petco the blue ones are fine. Get some black airline tube (so it doesnt grow algae in the tubes) and a check valve.

i appreciate all the help and yeh i found it on stealth hydro and it looks legit, but what if i plan to get another garden? whats the best pump with more outputs?

Petsmart sells different sizes and it will just depend on the size and style of system you buy... they sell single head, double head and 4 head, all with different outputs. I personaly like to put a stone under each plant.. (4 plants = 4 stones = 4 head pump), I think I paid 30 bucks for my 4 head pumps, which comes with the airline and small stones.

nice and you got them at petsmart?
sure did, and they sell the black tubing there for cheap as well... even though it comes with clear tubing (i use my clear tubing until it gets bad, but it last for quite awhile before you need to replace it)..

Heck yeah, get them pix in so we can all see your setup...

have a good un..

i also had a question regarding what i used to plant the germinated seeds into the aerogarden bc its just a bunch of whole, do i use the pods they give me and put a little bit of soil in it or what?
