Thx nirvana...

But he asked about autos....

You definitley dont clone with autos...

So the only way to go is straight from seed....

Theres no reason why you wouldnt be able to pollinate parts of a female and get viable seeds in the aerogarden...

So i guess the answer to the "seed run" question is...Yes...

then in original area (now the flowering area), get small storage box say 8inches deep, 24 inches wide, and 16 inches deep (approx) with a cover. make it light tite. add air stone

add 12-16 1 inch holes evenly spaced. place clones from mothering area when ready every two weeks into flowering area. rotate every 2weeks with 12/12 lights and in 8 weeks harvest.

check out the post it give you all the info for ideas. at least that is mine.it should work just a downsized version of AL.B Fuct.

able to fit my grow setup.
so make the flowering area a DWC/SWC area prettty much, no pump just a airstone?
it sounds like that might be a pretty good solution to me!

I think the most important thing to look for is lowest cost per watt. Most any CFL sold at a reputable store is gonna be ok. After all, low price is one of the main reasons we use CFLs. No?

well low cost low heat, and good color spectrum, i was thinking of 2 40watt soft white cfls
I added first 2 26watt 6500K (bought a 3-pack) for side lighting. Then when I went to flower I changed to 5 additional 26watt 2700K. Bought them all at Wal-Mart. GE brand. But the more wattage the better! I just found out that Lowes here has 40watt CFLs. I would have bought them if I knew but I'm gonna stick with what I got for this grow I think.

Yeah I saw them on the website too. One thing I noticed! Look at the picture. On the bottom of the package it has three positions of the bulb; down, sideways, and up. Down and sideways are X'd out. I couldn't read below it but I think it says to only mount the bulb in a fixture with the bulb pointing up.

yea but i dont know if that would really affect it that much, do you think mounting it sideways would cause a major problem?

I don't know, just something I noticed. I'm guessing because of the size of the 40 there's more stress on the glass if it's hung to the side or down. But It's just a guess.

im sorry if this has been answered but...
what about 12/12 from seed for the aerogarden
since clearance is a problem it will keep the plant short and grow
faster without the vegetative growth...
but you would need alot of extra lights prolly

well either way ill try, i got a bunch of cfl's, i think they are the same brand, pointing every which way so ill give it a whirl and ill let ya know

you really shouldnt go 12/12 from seed, the plant needs to have some veg. growth, im vegging for 2 weeks, then going to 12/12, and that will be tomorrow, my plants have 4-5 nodes and about 2 1/2 inches tall, probably still be too big for a stock aerogarden, and ill prolly have to hang the light but still need to get extra lights as well, right now i have 2 18" flouro tubeson it as well, one high in blue and one high in red, and i will be picking up extra cfl's this weekend

Here's what i've got. Less than 2 months from seed. 3 week flower. Funny thing is the plant on the left was WAY ahead of the other at 4 weeks. Then once I got my shit together with the PH and PPM meters they took off and righty shot up like crazy.
