Aerogarden cloning?

hey guys, just had a quick question, on my 2nd attempt at growing in the aerogarden and everything has been going pretty well, i have been using the recipe for success technaflora nutes, my plants are just starting the 4th week of flowering, i have been switching back and forth from my 400 w hps light to the reqular aerogarden hood light, just depends on the temps in my grow room but mainly they have been under my hps light, i usually put the hood light back on near the end of the day like an hour befor the light goes out..i started with seven, two didn't make it, 2 were males and i cut them down, now i have 3 sexing , one is clearly a female and the other two haven't show yet or at least enough for me to tell yet, but

anyway i guess my question in a nutshell is I wanted to clone from the female since it may be the only one i have, can i just cut some branchs off and put them back into one of the aerogarden slots and will they root, meaning not chaning the 12/12 lighting, i have the clone gel but from what i have been reading you should get like a heatmat and put them under 24/24 cfl lighting, just curious if anyone has cloned with the aerogarden while another plant is flowering..if anyone can help would be appreciated ..sorry for the book

The aero garden can be a great device for cloning. You probably will want to get a cloning gel. Take a clone, about 4-6 inches long, dip it in the solution, and put it into the aerogarden. To get the best results growing, I would only use the aerogarden for cloning. Once you have developed a nice root system on the clone, you can go ahead and plant it in whatever grow medium you choose.

Edit...Just seen you have the gel. Yeah, take a clipping, and put it in. Let it get a nice root system. Do you have a dome to put over the clones? That would help. As for the heatmat, its not needed, but if you lack a good temperature and humidity I guess it could help. Make sure to mist the clones several times a day

Here is the proper way take a clone

When you have your tools and accessories ready and have soaked your medium, you should select a soft, small branch from the bottom of the plant, one that wouldn't amount to much anyway. If you are planning to keep the plant in vegetative growth to continue taking cuttings then you should take cuttings from any shoots that have two or three nodes. I take cuttings that are between two and four inches long, but some people prefer to take cuttings as long as eight inches.

can you put the sponge thing that comes in the areogarden in soil? and when you put your clone in the areogarden should the bottom part hang out of the bottom of the sponge or be sitting in the sponge
