I was reading up on aeroponics and i found out about all the foggers and droplet sizes and stuff and i came to the conclusion couldnt you just build a low cost aerosetup by basicaly makeing an aerocloner on a larger scale. LIke get a 20 gallon sterilite container and cutt holes in the top for net pots to dangle down and in the container instead of messing with cutting all the pvc pipe and the water pump and finding micro misting nozzles couldnt you just havethe resevoir in the container wiht the roots held out of the resevoir by a window screen and a $40 reptile fogger in the water adn nutes. I havent ever built an aerocloner or anything of that sort so please give me your thoughts, ex. yes it will work or i am retarted. thanks

Sounds like you are describing this (a Rainforest):

The center column rotates shooting water at the roots. It comes in three configurations (6, 18, or 36 plants). The thing costs 250 (230 if you shop around) but 125 of that is the motor. If you're inclined, it seems like you could build one with a sturdy plastic rubbish bin and air nozzles.

The one on the far right is a drip version. Both types seems like a pretty effective way to utilize a small space and looks to be a great idea.

talk to filtyfletch if you are wanting to diy some type of aerogarden. as far as i know he is the most active user on the threads about aerogardens and diy.

yeah thanks. I was thinking more of ultrasonic fogger which puts out the smallest dropplets of water so the roots are in 100% humidity so they get the best of both worlds the max amount of oxygen and water opposed to a DWC or traditional aeroponics avoiding the hassle of clogged misting sprayers, pump sound (where stelth is a main issue for me), and air stones/ air pumps. i think the think email posted hit the nail on the head.

Also if anyone has used one of these rain forrests is there a problem with the nutriants becomeing fogg ie clogging the fogger or anything?

I think all aero systems can get clogged from time to time. store bought or DIY. there is a thread about the rainforest somewhere but i didn't follow up on it.

only thing i have seen with the foggers is they get very hot in the water. so i think they should be on a timer just a thought.. not sure peace

ok i've decided to take johonny blunts advice and make a growjournaly out of it. I have all i need now i have hashberry seeds germinateing now i picked up a fogger from petsmart adn i saw this 2 foot long ajustable micropore air stone adn decided to cram it into the fogger box. I have a old air pump from an aquarium adn have hooked it up with the fogger in my sink right now and will post some pictures adn the grow journal soon Peace

can someone please post a pic of this reptile fogger thingy?
i wanna look into theis because i am ingenious with making growing devices, and this gives me a couple innovative ideas if it functions if I am understanding the ways that it is working.
it creates a mist in reptiles enviroments right?
so this device may not be pre-prepared to handle the nutes that your about to be pumping through it. primarly thinking this because something has to be creating that mist. THAT is whats gonna fuck up or get clogged.
