advise needed on super stealth grow room (pics included)

Hey guys, ive spent the last couple of days removing all the debris from this area, but i'm still far from finished.

Basically the location of this grow room is as follows:
stairs to basement > a stepladder from basement goes to the cellar > behind a bookshelf with solid brick walls in this cellar [pics show where bricks from the wall have been removed to access this area] is the enterance to a crawlspace.

I believe i could make a pretty good grow-room at the enterance to this crawl-space granted it needs alot of work.

Anyways i have alot of things to ramble on about, but instead i'd love to hear all your opinions on how to go about cleaning this up a bit more, and just in general how to create a good grow-op!

Thanks in advance for all your replies :peace:

how is your grow room super stealth if you are showing it off to the world via the interweb.

how much clearance do you have anyway. are you going to be growing small plants.

Thats a good point, but considering im trying to make this undetectable to the rest of my household i consider that stealth enough.

I have around 90cm clearance (3 feet). The plants will be grown through LST or ScrOG.

what kind of lighting? how are you going to control humidty,? what are you planning for pest control? are you living with your parents?

No its a student share house. Lighting will be several CFL's for my first grow (which'd probably consist of 6-8 23W's or higher), then i'll move onto growing clones via aeroponics with hps.

The idea is to create adequate intake/exhaust ducting, then seal off the area thoroughly and contain it. Im talking tiling the floor, putting up a wall of sorts etc. Later on down the line my idea is to put a grow closet inside this space.

Pest control is a huge issue, but i will be cleaning out the area with disinfectant, bleach water etc, aswell as creating a well insulated box inside the area (sealing off all cracks with spray foam insulation).

Also, all intakes would have filters in place to stop bugs getting in. Where i live, and more specifically this crawl-space is extremley dry, but as far as humidity goes, i would have a humidifier running.

At least thats the idea. If you would like to help out please comment back as im just really basing my information from the countless posts, grow books and grow videos that i have seen.

right on man i see you started another thread.... from your last post you seem to see a picture in your head.

Start there like you said clean everything a few times(make sure you can breath man tight area and allot of bleach woo hoo been there),

you are going to need power so look around to see power you can tap into, or check your breaker box see if you can add a new line,

now start thinking about your venting ducing, wheres your intake going and outake, are you pulling are from under the house? in the house? fresh air outside? and where are you putting your outtake air carbon filter of-course,

now it just hit me shit you need water duh for the girls, do you have a water line you can tap into and put a hose nosel ( you will be going threw water and need a way to bring it in and out of the room with not to many spills,

ok basics covered kinda clean area, air in/out, electric, water, anything I'm missing once the wall goes up you don't have much room to play with,

then put up a wall to enclose the area if its not already enclosed, use cocking and foam to seal all your big gaps/holes in the brick or wall or where ever,

then get a goooood paint that prevents mold and seals good the small cracks paint all 4 walls floor and ceiling, i would give it two or three coats, let that dry and smoke a bowl, after they dry i would clean the room agian with bleach

then look at your room you should now have a room with three brick white walls and one drywall/wood one then your ceiling and floor,

light proof i believe we are light proof besides the door to get into the room so you are going to have to come up with something

hmmmm this would be sick get some plywood make a door on the inside of the room (so your inside your room looking at your door getting ready to leave the room) make a wood frame to hold your door, then make a nice 3/4 door, this is where it might get tricky, get some brick and install it on the door so it fits the hole in the brick wall (you still fallowing me) so when the door is closed it looks like a brick wall and you know were to push on the wall to open the door that be crazy if you could do that.(If stealth room you must be able to know when someone is outside your room, understand, dont want to be leaving your room with one of your roommates down there doing laundry or hooking up with a chick whatever you get me,

ok off track where were we........oh yea so now we are light proof i hope since you have electricity in your room now plug in some lights then go outside your grow room close the door turn off all the lights around the grow area and see for light leaks do what you have to do to fix the light leaks,

hmmm alright lots of typing wonder if anyone is going to read this all hahaha:bigjoint:

ok so you have your light proof room with air flow, electric, water is ok to come in and out, so now start thinking of the lights and how they will be, growing system, nutes your using, temps, co2, mounting fans, carbon filters, shelfs if your going to have ballast, theres probably allot of things i am forgetting so everyone help this guy out and lets see what he can build, just dont give up Ax3 you have your hands full for a month or so good luck ..........

oh yea try and keep all your questions to one thread or post your new thread in this thread so we can fallow along if you would be so kind :weed: Lets get to work bongsmilie!

oh man thanks so much. Im in a huge rush to get to work now, but i will finish reading when i get back.

But yeah seriously i really appreciate your help. Imma smoke my next one for you :)

And sorry about the multiple threads, i just keep coming up with new questions and such but yeah you're right it does get quite difficult to track.

In any case +rep and thanks again!

edit: just checked out the comment on my other thread and uhm that ducting i was talking about was for exhaust. As i understood it input air could come in through an air pump (which i could place in the crawl-space somewhere?).

If not let me know how it'd work, as i do have access to other wall-vents that i could use for intake.

i really appreciate all your help :)

i would do a SoG micro grow concept in that space....ummm... pack as many CFLs as i could.....start with real good soil like fox farm and finish with tiger bloom... no veg. fertilizer and very little veg time (or a lot of veg. time but cut them down and let them "Y" out be for flowering)...but i think u need to go to home improvement store and get some stuff to clean it up a little bit...some fans ...mylar...ect...make it look nice it always seems if u take your time on your grow space your plants do that much better...other then that if u keep the temp. and hum. at the right levels it should grow.

Here are some pics Ax3 posted in another Thread about his grow area

I took the liberty of labeling the pics my self, so Ax3 if they are missed labeled let us know.

crawl space layout

outside grow room, grow room left behind book shelf

air vent outtake intake

outside vent

I don't think you need a Air pump for your intake/outtake, just nice fans. If you have more then one vent that leads to the outside i would use two vents one for intake one for outtake.

What are the measurements of the room width x length x 3 ft (and is 3ft the most or can you dig out some of the floor ?)?

Question...

Instead of CFL, how about FL, 48" tubes. You could easily put a bank of 6 bulbs side by side.

Could this put out much more light? I have seen great mothers and clones under those. Clone short, 12/12 at rooting, and use a Indica based strain.

Watch smell.

And realize, that the odds are this will be found/discovered/snitched. Leave no trace to yourself, and hope for the best. If that area was in a private house I would be 100 percent onboard with the project.

Remember 2 people can keep a secret if 1 of them is dead.

Best of luck.

Thanks for re-adding the pics hulk nugs!

And Flowermaster yeah im going to try sanitize the place up as much as possible..
Also streetrider, the second pic of my grow area (that hulk nugs puts up) shows a bunch of crap lying around on the side. That crap originally cluttered up the entire area, so much that there was no access to it, and nobody had been down there in years. At the moment i have the house to myself for a bit, so i want to get my grow setup.

edit: rooms measurements are 2.5ft x 4ft x 3ft (LWH).

Cheers again guys

Go for it.. Best of luck.. I still say go for as much light as you can, it will help keep the plants from stretching.
