I am growing autos and I am starting them in 5 gallon buckets and some 3 gallon buckets. (considering autos don't respond well to being transplanted.) They are still in the seedling stage, and only 2 have the seed off. My question is, should I only water a little every other day, as if I were starting in a cup, or completely drench the 5 and 3 gal buckets until I see run off? Thanks in advance.

I don't know about autos. But watering such a small plant in such a large pot is tricky. The pants isn't drinking much at all and you want to roots to be seeking out water. But there is so mcuh wet soil around it, hard to get it dry. I would wait a few days and then try to water near the stem only so the outsides of hte pot get dry. If you keep saturating that whole pot every couple of days I worry you will have problems.

^^^ I agree. I ran 3 gal from seedling last grow and it was difficult to dry out the soil. I have since used plastic cups, to 1 gal, to 5 gal. IMO this is a much better way to manage the plants.
