That less is more when fertilizing and watering.

That plants would yield better when they weren't loved to death.

Good advice footclan!!!

Well I have been growing since christ was a cowboy and I wish someone told me to go organic right from the get go. I started with ebb and flow 4x8 rock wool bla bla bla than bubble buckets, than thin film and thousands of dollars later and 1000's of hours adjusting this and that what a drag. I have grown in dirt, in raised beds 4x4 and 4x8 I just water never flush, I can't anyhow but don't need to. I don't even dig the beds up I just pull the old plant out and put in the new one. It has made my life so simple, just water every 5 to 8 days.

Great products to use coco, worm castings THIS is GOLD, get some.

My source for nutrients are; composted cow, composted sea, worm castings, blood & bone meal that's it. I top dress every 4 months and water in.

I use 1000w and my yield has increased by 30% and I will put my girls up against any hydro any time.

The best way to increase your yield is to get it down to a science, monitor everything, temp, humility, co2 and measure everything, find a great seed and stick to it and learn what it likes and does not.

Tell no one!!!
And don't flap your lips when you hear people talking about growing. Security!!

Some things you will hear a lot about on this forum is Molasses, I use it and do recommend it at a rate of 1/2 tbs or 7ml per gallon. There is no current research to support all the anecdotal evidence. The other is Tea's ACCT or not. Again there is no proof but I use them when I feel like I should fiddle with my grow.

All the best

total fail because of white powdery mildew."

Always have a small fan blowing gently over the top of your pots, you have to keep the air moving just a bit and this will help prevent the powdery mildew, fungus nats and bring more co2 to your plants and make them stronger, all good things.

You can use a mixture of 1 part white milk and 9 parts water, spray on the plants it will kill the powdery mildew, don't use 1% milk.

I wish I had been told that Marijuana really is just a weed, and if you leave it alone, it WILL do its thing...

also Worm Castings are indeed a perfect medium...alone..and with organic soil, from my experience the fancier you get the worse off you are(my expirience only)

and foot had it right....do research for perspectives some stuff works other stuff fails, just go with the flow and experiment it's well worth it in the end!

Brick Top is a wealth of knowledge. Yes, he can be stubborn when it comes to methods that he disagrees with, but overall, his advice is spot on. He is very book smart and shows it in his encyclopedic posts. Keep in mind he is only trying to help. Just don't ask him about pruning....

I think there is a bit of that in all of us, we believe we got the answer, I just think sometimes we get a little ticked, but we are all here to help, grumpy some times, drunk some times and certainly high most of the time. So if were all nice and get along, life is good, if not may the fleas of a thousand camels infest your crotch. Brick knows his stuff, most of the time LOL don't come get me now....

Learn plant physiology, it will help you more than this forum. Research your nutrients, know what you are feeding. Research your strains, read other grow journals, breeders info, etc. Keep your own notes, religiously. Read some technical writings about cannabis, not just forum info. When you find genetics you like - KEEP THEM, they might not ever come your way again. Remember patience is your best friend when growing.

And for the love of god, get a pocket microscope so you know when to harvest!

I haven't been growing for a real long time or anything but I use all FF soil/nutes. My only fail so far in growing was PH on your water. Never get lazy and stop checking your ph of your water.

hes seems better at bragging about how many years hes done this and that and then moves into insulting anyone who disagress with what ever he says.......Im sorry but i can do with out that. ive found most people on here reasonable and open to debate but i think hes mostly interested in just telling people what he thinks is right and not interested in ingaging in a open debate.....Hes says things like " I know im right if you choose not to follow my directions it wont bother me only hurt you". For real? lol I disagreed with somthing he said and he came back and said i must be uneducated and ive never been to school . WOW really? all because i disagreed with him on one thing now im all that?? then hes moves to say i cant get laid?? lol what?? that sounds like a middle school child not a grown man with a wealth of exprience.. Im sorry not trying to start drama but that is rediculous..... He very well might be a " wealth of experiance" too bad its shadowed by his Massive EGO....

the people that have their own grow nailed down tend to be a bit opinionated ;).... I'd see what they have to say.

O the other thing that happens around here is your thread gets hijacked, say what you want but at least answer her question, got a tip leave it, we don't care who you love or don't the point was made that there are some people who have strong opinions and person named, move on.

Someone recommended a magnifier, that's a got to have, you can get some cool ones at Lee Valley tools under gardening. You need at least a 30x or get a microscope off ebay or fisher scientific. I also bought a kids toy called the bionic eye at wallmart around 34$ but it is so cool, you plug into your tv RCA jack, turn on and your in business. It mags 100, 200 and 500. You can also get them from Radio Shack/TheSource.

good post. I agree with you as I have been growing for over 20 some years. I only do soil as you can get better results just as fast as hydro. One secret is tiny holes in your pots and everywhere. it allows oxygen to enter the soil medium just like hydro. I only wish someone would come up with a porous planter.
