depending where u are ....rain water is horrible (smell it some time) it is a collection of all the crap in the air from cars/trucks/bus/trains/boats/trash burners/coal plants

if u can u just want to use good old tap water (if a well ) if city water u need to purge the chemicals out first or use a simple charcoal water filter to remove them (they sell them for hoses to water your plants or let kids play in sprinkler) ....purging is simple too just fill a bath tub with the hottest water u can walk away for 2/3 hours come back and jug it up for use (milk jugs do not work u can not clean it 100% water or juice jugs only) the hot water and large open surface area allows the chemicals they add in to keep roots from going in pipes to pass out into the air

as for the feed u are given it and what u are talking about given are 2 different things
1 is a feed with NPK values
2 is a stacker with very little NPK but high in other forms of something the plant wants

u need to get a complete feed system and fallow the plan on the box .....then tweak the plan for your next plant

here order this (all in one kit)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B004PS4B08
make it easy for feeding order yourself some pipettes 1ml and 3 ml (just amazon it pick the 500 count lasted me 3 years) .......u fallow the plan on the box adding the # of mls to 1 gallon of water shake and feed

as for good stackers
(amazon the names i write )....i know getting lazy sorry got to go cut a plant
Honey by Humboldt(make sure u get the one for soil not hydro only on this u have to check)
Bud Candy by Advance nutrients
B-52 by Advance nutrients

honey and bud candy u use from start of flowering to harvest .....b-52 is a destresser use that to about middle of flowering then stop u can use it if the plant is stressed for some reason but try not too at least 10 days before u cut the plant

Mick Dodge is the shit. Your just jelous.
oh I know who he is and he is awesome :spew::leaf: was in response too and a merciful attempt at killing the sad looking mom under the cfls being bombarded with unphed rain water, unknown soil, given random nutrients, and is soon to be subjected to thick thick molasses water as her fan leaves are plucked away.

oh my first grow was in a closet with cfls and miracle grow, inside 1/2 milk jugs with not nearly enough holes lol. I had a generous 3-5 inches between nodes :hump: the ridicule from this site actually got me to do a lot more research.

I can see where his heads at , the attempts aren't completely wrong but they are half assed

a quick look through a few staple threads on here will clear up a lot for him and after that if he has questions I know most people, including myself, would be willing to answer after he knew enough and can convey that with how he asks the question.

Well you can take my ridicule in stride and prove me wrong in 6 months with a successful harvest, or you can let me be right and just think of me as an asshole time will tell :leaf:

Being a dick aside read through a few of the posts on the newbie section and if you have a question try typing key words into the search bar chances are people have had the same question. ( this would have saved you some of the snide comments when you asked about yield :dunce:)

Advice

-Less is more is some of the best advice i can give to an early grower

-Invest in a good light that fits your space and heat requirements 600 Watt Leds and 400 watt hps / MH are a good inexpensive way to grow bigger

-Buy a PH meter for your soil and water, they cost less then 50$ for both and will solve So many issues and can easily rule out PH problems when problem solving

-The PH meter for the soil generally has a moisture meter so only water when the soil is almost completely dry ( if not stick your finger in as deep as you can if the soil sticks to it don't water ) ( this allows for the roots to spread and develop a strong system to support bud growth ) (over watering tends to be a big problem for new growers )

-When feeding i would say as a rule of thumb use 1/4 of what the bottle says, you can always add more it's harder to take it away, esp in soil

-Invest in good soil / soiless mixture ( do your research into the available grow media Pros cons / time investment vs plug and play )

-Don't cut things off your plant unless you really need to ( Learn how to LST there is a tutorial available on this site ) save the advanced techniques for when you have the basics down and know how to read what your plant needs

-Patients LOTS of it
