Advice on this hps

hey guys an gals, i hae been growing with some cfls latley, got myself a 250w cfl+reflector, its nice but its pissing me off keeping the light so close, so i was wondering if this hps light would do the job, i ask mainly because of its price, its so cheap so im wondering if it would be worth it.

Seems legit although those compact ballasts seem to run crazy hot. I know that this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/400W-MAXI...arden_PlantsSeedsBulbs_JN&hash=item35bf9b4276 is 15 quid more but it's a branded Sunmaster bulb and a cool running ballast(although quite big) and service form these guys is second to none. Having said that, even if this omega stuff is less efficient it would still blow any 250w cfl out of the water.

Ok thanks man, i think im going to get the on you linked to, i dont understand how people ca use cfls, its so annoying, getting splitters, how to mount bulbs and all that shite, figured 1 bulb is better than 3-4. also yeilds should rise with a proper grow lamp.

I just switched over from CFL'S to a 400 watt switchable MPH/HPS and I'm happy and so are my plants.

How many plants do you think someone could grow with that light? Kode or madmad's

No probs, I'm using the very same kit I linked, bought it 3 years ago and no complaints. I still use CFLs during veg, this grow is last time though. Next grow I will try Metal Halide bulb for veg as this ballast can run both MH and HPS bulbs. Just take into consideration that this HPS bulb gets really hot, make sure your grow area is well ventilated and not too small in general.
