hey everybody. i was recently offered ketamine although i turned it down because i know very little about K and im not going to do something that i am not educated about. I have heard it is great but i also heard it is quite easy to k hole which would not be great at all.basically, i would like to hear opinions about it from people that are experienced with K. wats the trip like? it is it worth it? wat are the positives and negatives? that kinda thing. thanks alot and responses are much appreciated.

not really like being in a coma aside from the fact that you can't talk or move, lol.... yeah.. i guess you could say it is like kinda being in a coma.. kinda scary the first time... may feel like you are never gonna come back to planet earth... just leave it alone, let your friends do it... find some new friends who are happy just smoking grass, and not really into doing anything harder... i am proud of you to have the sense to not do something that you are not comfortable doing, and then asking peoples opinions about the drug.. i wish more people had you sense...

yes a k hole is like a coma, except sometimes your awake but cant move or talk, quit unpleasant. id rather stick to my natural drugs and hallucinogens that i know are safe, drink a little and take a pharmaceutical now and then

oooo really? wow that does sound scary hahaha.i dont think im going to try it. it sounds like its not very beneficial and i only want to do drugs where i can benefit myself from the experience.only 2 of my frends do it habitually and honestly they act kinda weird now haha.but thanks ALOT for the replies and the compliment.i dont want to be another statistic and i think people that try serious drugs without atleast a basic knowledge of it are stupid and it is not a wise way to live

Ketamine is pretty safe and reaching the k hole or the far out stupor state is hard to achieve when insufflating or orally... you would have to consume nearly a gram to fill those effects. When people are speaking of the notorious k hole its mostly associated when shooting it up... if you want to know about special K... look up John Lilly.. the inventor and arch explorer of it ;)

The best word I could use to describe ketamine is "interesting", from experience after taking some everything looked the same, but was different (i am aware of how unhelpful this is, but its the only way i can really describe it). I also found it to be pretty much controllable (at 250mg insufflated) in that I could act normally, but if I looked at anything for a few seconds I started to see how strange it really was.

k-holing is dependent on how pure the k is and how much you take, i've heard of people doing it but never done it myself. I'm sure it's the same as any psychoactive in that if you panic and try to fight the drug, it's not going to be a pleasant experience. However if you know what is going to happen (as much as you can know without experiencing it 1st hand) and just enjoy the ride, wherever it takes you, you'll be ok.

tl;dr: knowledge is power, erowid.org is your friend

Nothing really changes in perception, its like a opiate with a psychedelic twist! It doesn't really reach its full potential until injected intramuscularly, and then your world may be turned upside down!

Ketamine produces effects similar to PCP and DXM. Unlike the other well known dissociatives PCP and DXM, ketamine is very short acting, its hallucinatory effects lasting sixty minutes when insufflated or injected and up to two hours when ingested, the total experience lasting no more than a couple of hours. Like other dissociative anaesthetics, hallucinations caused by ketamine are fundamentally different from those caused by tryptamines and phenethylamines. At low doses, hallucinations are only seen when one is in a dark room with one's eyes closed, while at medium to high doses the effects are far more intense and obvious. Ketamine produces a dissociative state, characterised by a sense of detachment from one's physical body and the external world which is known as depersonalization and derealization.

At sufficiently high doses (e.g. 150 mg intramuscular), users may experience what is coined the "K-hole", a state of dissociation whose effects are thought to mimic the phenomenology of schizophrenia. Users may experience worlds or dimensions that are ineffable, all the while being completely unaware of their individual identities or the external world. Users have reported intense hallucinations including visual hallucinations, perceptions of falling, fast and gradual movement and flying, 'seeing God', feeling connected to other users, objects and the cosmos, experiencing psychic connections, and shared hallucinations and thoughts with adjacent users. John C. Lilly, Marcia Moore and D. M. Turner (among others) have written extensively about their own spiritual/psychonautic use of ketamine. (Both Moore and Turner died prematurely in a way that has been linked to their ketamine use.)

Users may feel as though their perceptions are located so deep inside the mind that the real world seems distant (hence the use of a "hole" to describe the experience). Some users may not remember this part of the experience after regaining consciousness, in the same way that a person may forget a dream. Owing to the role of the NMDA receptor in long-term potentiation, this may be due to disturbances in memory formation. The "re-integration" process is slow, and the user gradually becomes aware of surroundings. At first, users may not remember their own names, or even know that they are human, or what that means. Movement is extremely difficult, and a user may not be aware that he or she has a body at all.

That's how I stay unbanned. :-) Brevity. It truly is the soul of wit. My words are unwanted.
I can go on a stream of consciousness on RIU and never get banned... your words must be hot and controversial... let your tongue ramble and your bound to say something really "unwanted" ;)

lol try the k only do a small line about an inch long if it dont work in 5-10 mins do another one its a weird drug best off taken while in a prone position. if you have to move or walk then be prepared to fell like your in a mech warrior suit for the first time and you have yet quite worked out the controls lol

as to the actual trip its pretty mad but it also pretty tame compared to other hallucinogenics hard to describe its a suck it and see sort of drug

but dont be scared get yourself a comfy chair some good music and do small lines till you know your there. then just enjoy it will be over before you know it anyway

To me in everywhere way insufflating ketamine is like taking a nice dose of opium... It makes you feel very relax and adds a bit of a psychedelic glaze to your surroundings... its nothing entheogentic when sniffing it... but it becomes totally OBE after you inject it. To get your money's worth a nice injection on your buttocks will do ;)
