Seeds are in tall styrofoam cups and i have tin foil wrapped around like a tent to increase lighting but am soon gonna change to insulated silver bubble wrap.As if right now,all for cups are gettin plenty of light.

It would be o.k. for Veg but you will need to broaden your spectrum for flower. For flower you want 20,000+ lumens in my opinion but that is just me. I have (2) 42 watt 2700K, (2) 42 watt 4500K and (6) 26 watt 6500k and they total out around 23,000+ lumens on one plant.

Hello, this is my first time posting on this forum, but I've been doing a lot of reading on here and it seems like a great place to get advice. I just started my first plants in a 4'x2' closet. I was wondering how many plants that could potentially hold and how much lighting I should use.

Floro's will and do produce buds however the buds will be small and looser than those grown with a Sodium Vapor or Metal Halide. If you insist on using floros you can grow some real nice green with compact floro's (CFL) or T5's. T12 floro's just dont cut it for great buds. You can use T5 tubes and get great results, but if you are thinking about costs for growing lighting can be an issue and the most for your money you can get is out of a metal halide system. It would take 42 40 watt t12 floro's to produce the same amount of light 1 400 Metal Halide bulb produces. T5's you would need ten 54 Watt bulbs. 5 compact floro's 125 watts would produce the same as one metal halide as well. So if you really want good buds and save money doing it invest in good lighting.

i have my plants under a cool daylight cfl 23w one light above each plant and all seems to be going well im goin to veg them for another 5-7 weeks then put them into flower.........i have an area of 66 inches in height 33 wide and 20 breadth i have a 400w ballast a 400w MH and a 400w HPS bulbs and was told to use Mh first then HPS for flowering but feel this will be too hot as i do not have an air intake and unsure what to use.....any sugestions on lighting??? i was thinking of a dual spectrum or red spectrum cfl 400w as this will not give off much heat(ive been told)...i have a carbon filter outside my "grow room" connected to a 4 inch extractor fan 2 6 inch desk fans and a nine inch desk fan the extractor is constantly on but only have fans on when lights are on to keep temp at 25c humidity varies between 60 and 70.....any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

that is them all tied down and looking gd bt lifted light up as they are not very tall and want them to grow upward......theyll b 4 weeks old tomorrowthe plant in pic 3 has nut burns(i think)on 1st few leaves should i b concerned??

Hello,

I am a first time grower from India. we are really deprived of good bud over here and hence decided to grow my own shit. Temperatures get really high this time of the year where i live and hence thought that fluoroscents and cfls would be better than a 400 watt hps. I have 5 plants and my grow room size is 3 x 5. Currently i have six 40 watt fluoroscents (3 warm , 3 white) and four 15 watt cfls ( 2 warm and 2 white). I also have a 400 watt HPS as stand by but as i mentioned earlier, scared of heat. I just put my plants in flowering stage a week ago but wanted some more insight from the experts!!!!

You can yield at least 1/2 oz dry off one plant under a 150W HPS. 6 plants grown 12/12 from seed can fit in a 2x2x5 tent. Thats 3 oz minimum per grow. Spend $75 bucks and get a real light.

If you go 12/12 from seed, you can get twelve (12 ) plants in one gallon buckets in that space. You didn't mention lighting, but that space is perfect for either one (1) 400W HPS or two (2) 250W HPS. Two aircooled 250W HPS "cool tubes" linked together would be awesome with a 194CFM inline fan and a carbon filter. Good luck !!!!!!

Can someone please explain to me the lights "per plant" thing? Unless they are casting shadows on each other, I don't understand it. What does it matter if there are one or four plants under the same light getting direct rays from that source? I get the same tan on the beach if I'm alone, or there are thousands of people around?

I have 8 Plants (4x KC 36, 4x Super Skunk #1) under a 48" 36W Flouro.

They were started in 2" peat pots then transfered to 5" Plastic Pots in a mixture of specialist potting compost/perlite (60/40).

Have fed with miracle grow every week.

They are aprox 21 Days old and are now over 12" Tall with 5 internodes and several shoots coming off the main stems. As this is my first grow i don't plan on spending big money on lighting systems. Having done some homework i have established they need red spectrum light for flowering. I plan to start flowering on 12/12 next week when plants are 4 weeks old - is this too early?(plants are quite big and i don't have much more space for them)

The lamp i have is developed for tropical aquariums and according to the leaflet has a large peak in the blue and red spectrums optimised for plant growth. Check out the graph at:- Arcadia - Original Tropical Lamp

Any advice would be most welcome.

Happy Growing :joint:
if this is your first grow i would think about topping/lst the skunk 1 , and any extra veg time will help a lot in your final yeild size (very good strain ), but

as a lot of review, say that kc 36 is not stable, can be a very good yielding plant but you need a lot of grows before you should grow this one

if this was my grow i would just keep the skunk and you will have good results, also skunk can double in size when you flip it to 12/12 flower

a 400w hps will give you a good yeild if you have the room,

good luck

hi samps86

i have 3ft twin 21w t5 tubes and get great result's but more watts will increase plant growth a lot in less time
a 1ft tube will grow seedling well, and healthy up to 6" tall
i know a lot of grower will say, straight under hps and this will speed up the plant growth a lot but all so the room temp

I intend on doing a small stealth grow, 80cm high 60cm long 50cm wide I will probably get 250CFL for veg and thinking about 400hps in flower, is this a good or bad idea?Whats the best distance light-plant?

This is my first grow. Its only 7 days in on three plants I managed to germinate and pop, from some killer bagseed. My lighting set-up is one 90 watt full spectrum led grow light (red and blue). I was worried that three plants under one 90 watt led would not be enough once they take off, so I purchased two 100 watt (equiv) CFL's that I plan on adding into the mix.

What do you guys think, are the 2 100 watt cfls, added to the 90 watt Led enough light for three plants? Any input is appreciated.

There's a lot of info in these threads but I have one question i'm still not clear on. If you have a mix spectrum of bulbs do you use them all during the grow from beginning to end or do you have to switch them out? I have two 18" cool white lights on the sides and two shop lights with "Y" connectors for 4 bulbs but I'm not sure on the best ones to use.
