Advice on how many seeds to try for first go

My growbox is 15" deep, 30" wide, and about 25" of height, a bit more but that is where my lights come down to. After figuring in some small/medium pots, I will probably lose another 6"+, so this box will mainly be devoted to germing and vegging, and then maybe switching to closet for flowering, since that will give for a bit more height.

So my question is, how many seeds would any of you try? This is bagseed, and I have plenty, I was gonna go with 10 or so, hoping that at least 6 would germ and make it, and that 3-4 would end up female.

I feel like my growspace is adequate for vegging 3-4 small plants in their early few weeks anyway. Thoughts/Questions/Comments/Concerns?

I went for 10 my first grow and managed to germinate 9 of them. I also managed to keep all 9 of them alive till harvest that from what people say was an accomplishment for a first timer. That said experienced grows tell me that you should start with like 3-4 plants so you don't get overwhelmed especially when you start them from seed that you are bound to come across various phenotypes and different reactions from each plant... just my 2p!

@ wiseguy316: Its gonna be 3x 42w 5000k 2800 lumens, and 3x 42w 6500k 2800 lumens.

@ malus420: Well, this go round, I want to try with bagseed, which will mean that I am gonna have the chance of males and therefore am expecting that I should attempt to plant a few more than I actually want.

since you are using bagseed, I would start w/ 15 or more, hope 10 germ and have 5 females. you will only have room to finish 2-3 so you can pick the best and kill off the weakest.

Sounds logical enough to me. Now I have to figure out if I should invert my day/night with actual day/night since my house is so much warmer during the daytime.
