i agree most of the time people harvest too early just because they hit that 8 week mark. i usually harvest around 10 weeks 12/12 on 8 week strains. way better tasting smoke. the amount of thc you will lost harvesting late is sure of alot less than harvesting too early. basically, harvesting a week too early will be alot worse than a week too late.

There you go. Harvesting upon ripeness is better than harvesting per the amount of weeks you've been flowering. Read up a bit on harvesting and you'll figure out the best time for you.

That or when the nug appears ripe harvest it. Just as when apples look ripe harvest them and as peaches look ripe harvest them. Marijuana does get a ripe look to it...something similar to what you find in the bag when you buy it from someone who sells dank.

just curious but what are you using for fertilizer? those buds are awfully green and leafy. She's a beauty though.

yeah, that is a way to determine harvest
also,a better way is to check ur trichs
but once u see a finished bud,u can tell just by looking at it

Get a small microscope at Radio Shack and use the trichomes. It's the only accurate way to do it. Here is a good read: http://www.420magazine.com/forums/harvest-preparation-curing/56899-how-know-when-harvest.html
I should add that this person doesn't mention it but many people will wait until 50% of the trichomes are amber to get the more couch lock type high. It depends on what kind of high you want. It is so simple I don't understand why anyone who grows doesn't pay the 12 bucks to get an accurate idea of when to harvest. Be sure to look at various parts of the plants so you know what the average trichome color is. You don't want to go by just one area because the ripeness will vary.

pistils are a poor way of telling when a nug is ripe...can be supportive tho through a healthy grow. i have seen pistils die immaturely due to other reasons...such as pesticides/fungicides and heat.

true,
but u can tell by the way it dies
it either just dies,
or it withers and recedes in the calyx while it(calyx) swells

u shouldnt even be that worried about counting days
u harvest when it is ready, not on a specific day
Good answer Moash.I only use the days as a reference. You can take two cuttings and feed em the same under the same lumens and still be a week behind on one sometimes more than that.Trich's don't lie.
