Advice needed for extractor/ventilation

Hi ,

I'm thinking of putting a grow tent in a bathroom in my room in a place I have just moved into sharing with 4 others with a shop below us.

My bathroom room has a ventilation vent about 4" in diameter there isn’t a extractor fan there but I think there must be one somewhere because the is air being drawn up , if you put a piece of tissue up there it'll be pulled put against the vent.

So what I'm asking is would I be able to attach my tent up to this and use it as ventilation and cooling? I'm not sure where the ventilation goes but is that even a problem if I fit a carbon filter to get rid of the smell?

The grow tent is likely to 60cmx60x120 is that is important and it’s a 250w bulb and I'm on the top floor in the rafters of an old refurnished building

Any advice appreciated

i would just stick that thing in your room and just ventilate into your room if you got AC 250w only wont get too hot. plus why put it in the way of taking a shower, i think your over thinking your small grow.

Nah don’t have AC (UK resident) and don’t really want to vent into the room because of the smell in flowering also there is a perfect sized spot under the vent in the for the tent in my bathroom.

All I need to know really is whether attaching my tent up to that vent will keep my tent cool (because it is going to get hot in there even with a 250) and will a carbon filter negate any problems I would get from the smell

carbon filter will handel it all thats why i say put it in the bedroom. but hell if you can do it in the bathroom you can try, i would get some type of flange and scree it to the grate so you can attatch ducting easier.

no AC in the UK what king of shit is that lol.

dumping non filtered air out of the vent pipe and into the outside is all kinds of bad. Always use a carbon filter unless you live alone 30 miles away from anyone else.

Alright cheers lads definitely on the carbon filter then. If I was to do it in my room how would I get the air flowing out through the carbon filter and ducting? I'm sure I've just a asked a question with an obvious answer but I haven’t had to worry about this before my last grow was a couple of plants in a cold basement the smell and ventilation wasn’t a problem

have an inline fan sucking air into the filter over the lights and out into another room
