Advantages/Disadvantages of Topping

Wats up guys, I was jw what the advantages and disadvantages of topping are and under what circumstances is it a good idea. Also, when is the best time to do so. Replies are greatly appreciated and I'll +rep for good answers.

more tops, good for bushing, can keep them shorter...depending on strain could increase yield..creates more clones for later..more budding spots..

topping works well with LST and a mus with scrog

The disadvantages are only more space required and longer veg time. The advantages are, about everything else. Good answers guys. Mother's Finest, I'd give u +rep but it won't let me, says I need to spread around more even tho I have spread around plenty. Great signature by the way, I never heard a quote like that b4 but it is so true. I got a few short bushy indicas growin in soil right now. Would topping these be worth it even tho they are already short and fat and will it result in higher yield under cfls? When would the best time be to start topping. I'm about two weeks in now. Thanks.

The only disadvantage I can think of is that some plants get crazy stressed from topping. Other than that it should be a go for most.
