yo lastfrontier. i was wondering the kelvin output on those bulbs. looks like the 6500k for small cfl's but what about the large ones. i have one large (42wat?) that looks just like yours. i have always herd that the more cfl's the better but the kelvins get me paranoid. what do vegetating plants need? i thought i read they like lower kelvins in the red/orange lights and blue for flowering.

anyway nice setup.

Hmmm... I may have to reconsider my position on this... Just found a store that has a clearance on 15w warm white (2700k) spiral CFL's - £0.18 each! And with basic fittings at only £0.34 I can get 60 (roughly 100,000 lumens by my reconing) for only £35 with delivery! (not including wiring)
Seriously considering it....
Will post pics and results if i do it.

wow i have forgotten i had that lamp as my avatar i have come so far since then and it's all do to the help of this site and this sticky thanks. you know i dont know if i have said this about HID versus CFL but with HID alot of people tend to over light plants just like you can over water them you can over light them and what ever the plants dont need/use they will kick out in the form of heat and in that alone for the small grower CFLS are great. not that HIDs dont have there place. i use pretty much all know sources of light CFL,HID,LED,plasma, and afew others.
wow your a legend dude all known sources of light, hahahahaha, f*ck you and your piss ass setup, 42 ozs my ass, after reading this sticky, now dumber for it, the only thing i do know is that you seem to know a helluva lot. 42 ozs hahahahahah. Check Heath Robinsons flooded vertical or a few others befors runnin ya mouth. Just sayin.

Seriously LastFrontier, I'm on my first cfl grow and its goin great but after all this time and you can't show some pics to prove what you say then you don't have the right to keep posting. I'm not calling you a lire but 1 pic would have ended this discussion a long time ago! And if your next post is still lacking some sort of visual then I suggest you log off and never log back on because you're not making any friends here, And thats what this is about, helping each other and getting along. If you're just looking to ruffle some feathers than I suggest put down the bong and go join a crack forum. Please heed my advice and grow in peace!

Depends, for a small grow my money is on CFL, on large grow I would probably vote hid! I'm still getting blown away each day with what a few cfls will do.
used envirolites cfls for a couple of years before hid and i agree you can do a pretty good job, what would you call a small or large grow?
