Assuming that's true, it's a bad thing because... ?
As cool as it would be to have some secret nutrient that no one has ever heard about, those companies either fail or get big enough that everyone has heard of them.
I actually want AN to be successful. That means they'll keep selling the nutrients that work best for me. Even better, they'll keep doing research and supporting legalization and medical marijuana and such.
You don't see that from a lot of the "big" companies. They're all about trying to distance themselves from pot. Advanced Nutrients is fighting the good fight.
Yup! If it didn't work no one would use it.
The 2 plus system you mention, you mean the Sensi 2-part? If so that stuff is great - I love it.

I used to feel the same way about AN as I was an avid BC series user and thought I had great results.
It wasn't until I did my own head to head using same strain (clones), vegging for same time, using identical systems, identical lighting, in the same room that I discovered for myself that I was able to get more weight with AN.
Granted the AN nutrients obviously cost me more, and I didn't go as far to break down how much more I spent in comparison to the added weight, but I was overall very pleased with the results AN brought me.
My local shop has started to carry a new line of nutrients by Advanced Floriculture BLOOM Advanced Floriculture - Home
Their site doesn't have where to buy yet, but my local shop has it's shelves full of it. They claim that a lot of their customer base is switching to it with superb feedback. I'm going to give it a trial run in comparison to AN my next time around.

Yup. I imagine more than a few of the growers out there that try AN and get the same results as they did with whatever else they use just stop there and assume "they're all the same". But how long did it take them to dial in their previous nutes?
I'd bet if they're getting the same results on AN as they are on FF or GH or whatever that they don't really have the Advanced Nutes dialed in right.
I'm hoping someone takes up the gauntlet Advanced Nutrients threw down and we get to see some hard-core side-by-side growing for big prize money. That'd be awesome.

I used AN for years. I bought into the marketing. It worked well.
I tried many other brands over the past 2 years, they all work well.
My suggestion is to buy some cheaper brand of base nutes, cheap cal/mag and big bud & overdrive.
The only thing I use from AN now is the big bud and overdrive in tandem, they work.
Any base nutes will work just fine.
It's not all about the nutrients, it is about the strains and how well you grow too.

I agree and disagree.
I agree that AN works well but not everything else does. Also, I would say that if you use Advanced Nutrients base nutes you can skip the cal/mag. I've been told the only reason that AN even makes a Cal/Mag supplement is because people that use other nutes need one. I've used almost every one of their base nutrients and never seen a hint of Calcium of Magnesium deficiency with any of the strains I've grown.
It all comes back to the difference between nutes made for MJ and nutes made for "undisclosed plants".
AN guarantees their nutes and makes them specifically for our plants. It really makes a difference imho.

Just wanted to point out that ANs Big Bud is easier to use in the liquid form no mixing. Definitely more convenient that way.
But powder can be a little easier on the budget.
If you look at Advanced Nutrients site, youll see you need to add the powder to your reservoir 1.5 tsp per gallons of water. This way its cool with your pH and youre getting the maximum results.
Ive used both, but the liquid saves me time and I need all the time I can spare these days.

I think the liquid is easier to use too, but I do know that that's not the case with everyone. It's just a question of which you find easiest to measure accurately, powders or liquids.
And as you say, the powder is a bit more economical since it's shipped dry weight. No cost for shipping the water.
