Yep, I did say that. However, I find it highly ironic that a company like AN who claims to put in all this research and be on the cutting edge of blah, blah,blah had to copy another company's formula just to 'compete'.
In AN's defense, Blue Planet, Cutting Edge, Humboldt and a couple others also copied the GH 3-part formula so to folks using those brands I would say the same thing: why buy a ripoff product?

I don't get the mindset that if company A comes out with a product that is in no way unique, meaning with no proprietary or patented formula and Company B comes along with the same generic formula, that that is "copying". That like saying Company A invented the formula 3-1-2 and nobody else should copy that or be tagged a cheap company. Nute formulas are open source so to speak like Linux. LOL.
AN created the copy-Kat formula as an "in your face" retaliatory action when GH supported this boycott AN scheme the wholesaler created back in the day (recall they came out refusing to deal with hydro shops who sold AN products, ) . There is no irony there, they even stated they didn't do gobs of research on it.
EDIT: SUNLIGHT SUPPLY was the wholesaler

What's not to understand? We're talking about a trio of bottles created by GH with unique NPK values that were 'copied' by AN. Like I said earlier, when is a knockoff ever as good as the original?

What makes the GH 3-part unique? How about the fact that it's 3 different bottles with specific minerals in each bottle that GH created YEARS ago and AN recently copied. Is GH copying any of AN's sh*t? Nope. And that should tell you everything you need to know about the stuff AN is making.
On that note, AN didn't reverse engineer the GH formula. They just came up with a cheap knockoff based on the guaranteed analysis. Everyone did.
Again, when is a knockoff ever as good as the original? At BEST it can only be as good so why even chance it?

I don't have an issue with what your saying. I have an issue with that this line of thinking is ok, when not talking about Advanced Nutrients. I cant tell you how many times people will come on here and bash AN, because there are cheaper alternatives with the same ratios and that it doesn't make a difference because the numbers are the same.
If it was turned around and GH copied AN and I said something similar to you, chuck would have jumped my ass. However since it is not about AN, he is giving you a pass...

GH years ago decided to take the anti-pot route by condoning the SUN SYSTEMS forced boycott on AN because AN was advertising as a pot specific product. That is a fact.
It didn't work. If AN is so bad, why do they continue to be in business? If it were so obvious that they are an inferior product, WHy the continued sales?
If your answer is that they sucker stupid stoners well maybe , but you need more then that.
GH isn't anywhere near the caliber of AN. GH 3-part is too expensive anyway, If any company needs scrutinized for watery shit it's them. I cant get a gallon of 3-part from them for under 100$ ,
