Adjusting light intesity in later weeks of flower (less light)

I was wondering if anyone knows about adjusting your light intesity late in flower to a lessor output. I have already ramped up to as much power as I want to use but I was thinking about going down a little with the heat coming and thought I had heard something about it being more natural. I'm about 5 weeks in on strains that take between 8-9 weeks, I was thinking about decreasing the output around week 6. If it matters, I'm growing in sips with organic soil that is running on empty and lots of HLG diodes (1000s).

Does anyone have any experience with this?

I would wait longer to decrease light. Wait until they are mostly done packing on weight. Last two weeks is mostly ripening and they do not need as much light. And in nature, days get shorter and shorter- 12/12 stays 12/12. You could probably drop down to 11/13 at that point as well.
