Ok guys.. More questions for those who will tolerate and are willing to toss a guy a freakin bone..
I don't know if you can see it or not in this poor pic but I went to the Depot this AM to pick up some hardware. My goal was to set myself up for a CFL grow in a 4 ft high by 2 ft square box. The base is rated for 660 watts and the splitters were rated at 660 watts as well I believe. I did not buy bulbs as the Depot's selection of CFL's was pretty slim in the recommended watts and lumens arena. In their defense I might have just brain farted in remembering what I was looking for. I think I wanted high wattage (40 Plus) and a lumen output of 6500 for vegging but alas I was stoned.
I then went over a budski's place and he gave me 6 metallic halide bulbs. Four 100 watt and two 150 watt. I "think" they would be a better choice now that I have them but they don't work in a regular socket so I need adapters but I don't know what adapters and where to get them?? The bulbs sure do just screw right in like they want to work. Also... Are these 4 halide bulbs truly equivalent to a 400 watt set up with ballast? If so I guess I have plenty of light for the area?
Just curious about one more thing... Would you go with one plant and a big pot with a long vegging period or would you go four plants in smaller pots with a shorter veg cycle? I do expect this grow to occur in a cooler part of the basement so maybe the heat from the Halides will be a benny.
PS... What feminized strain would YOU go with for a good tasty herb and a decent yield in a small space??
The Brug in the poor pic is my own hybrid about 10 years in the making. They say it's an hallucinagenic but I think that just means you see things before you DIE!!
