Activated Carbon

Has anyone ever experimented with activated carbon?
i am ready to strain my winterized butane. Would using activated carbon be a good or bad idea?
Would the solvent pull anything toxic? Would the carbon absorb any impurities or toxins?

Activated charcoal will remove chlorophyll as well as other polar elements, but also soaks up some of the cannabinoids.
