Acid - few things..

Just got a couple of questions about Acid (LSD).. I'm fairly new to drugs etc.. Smoking pot for about 2 months, and only other thing I've tried is Salvia (trying to get a decent trip hah)..

Anyways, one of the main things holding me back from Acid is the flashbacks? I'm pretty sure half of what I've heard about flashbacks is just the same old government bullshit that they feed people about weed.. but still, some first hand experiences on flashbacks would be appreciated :)

I only plan on trying it once (if anything), otherwise I'd just leave it and try shrooms.. But they're quite hard to come across around here ;/

So yeah, if anyone could just tell me a bit about their flashbacks if they've had any and just anything else to be aware of if I were going to take it?

Thanks :)

i look forward to some flashbacks.....

LSD is a magical drug, you really should try it
Absolutely... But only if you love laughing, humerous in depth analyzation of everything you see/touch/feel, and stone-cold unadultered enlightenment;)

All I'm saying is that if you are so fragile that you are going to be damaged by one trip on a moderate acid dosem you are going to see funny shit that ain't there in the long run anyway.

The flashback phenomenon is a big marketing scheme!

You can potentially get flashbacks from any sort of stimuli that is induced to our bodies!

Hell, salvia can even cause flashbacks. Flashback in its relative and simple meaning... is just a repressed memory... and as far as I know... memories can never hurt your future ;)

Go ahead, I guarantee you'll enjoy it.... that's if it is truly acid!

Do it. You won't regret it.

As far as the flash backs go, its pretty much BS. I was thinking the other night "I wish I could pop my back and be sky rocketed into an acid flash back."

I have done acid more times than I can count, and have never had a flash back event. Am still waiting for the day it comes, hehe.

I've actually had a few flashbacks before. They don't happen very often, but when they do, it will happen out of nowhere and for no reason. It makes me feels like I am slightly tripping all over again, and the pupils in my eyes will dilate so large that they go entirely black, which is how I know for sure that I am tripping. Usually only lasts for about an hour. I've tripped on real LSD-25 over 500 different times though, so I'd imagine there is some still stored in my spine somewhere.

The only lingering effects from LSD that I have noticed are that I still have fairly strong tracers when things, espesially lights pass in front of my eyes quickly but I have gotten pretty used to it. I'm still waiting on the flashbacks

That's nothing that is particularly alarming... the government makes it sound like a problem that throws your cognitive abilities in a blender!

If you're only doing it once, I wouldn't be too concerned. As frequency of use increases, so does the potential to have a "flashback."

Do it if you wish but read some guide for acid and newbies
good mood etc...
Other then getting a bad trip and illegal status
You should be safe and feel and see things you never seen before

Oracle of Hallucinogens
The idea of Flashbacks and HPPD intrigues me highly..

Out of curiosity, has anyone in here read about clinical use and studies concerning the usage of LSD? Or its application to psychotherapy (e.g. psycholytic and/or psychedelic therapy)?

I am going to quote something from:

"LSD: Doorway to the Numinous: The Groundbreaking Psychedelic Research into Realms of the Human Unconscious" by M.D. Stanislav Grof

*To put this in context I am going to throw out a definition*

COEX System (Systems of Condensed Experience):

"A COEX system can be defined as a specific constellation of memories consisting of condensed experiences (and related fantasies) from different life periods of the individual."

Now:

"It has already been mentioned that an individual LSD session can result in the activation of a particular COEX system. If the unconscious material is not worked through, the subject may remain under the influence of this system after the session in psite of the fact that the effect of the drug has already worn off. On other occasions, the resolution may be incomplete and result in a precarious emotional balance; in such cases, various factors that weaken the defense system, such as sleep deprevation, exhaustion, fasting, alcohol, marijuana, or physical disease, may at a later time disturb this equilibrium and cause a tempory reemergence of trhe unresolved unconscious material. This balance can also be disturbed by emotional stress, especially when the problems involved are of a similar nature to those that remained unresolved in the last session. This constitutes the mechanism of belated reoccurrences of LSD-like experiences, popularly referred to as "flashbacks." "

Good stuff, I recommend reading the book!

Haha everyone has pretty much the same advice I have to offer.

the only time i have had a flashback was after i hit my head really hard, and even then, it would be hard to blame it entirely on acid. I mean i just got my head bashed.

I think LSD is one of the safest drugs you could do really. If you are mentally healthy you should have a badass time.

Agreed, even to those that are not "mentally healthy".. it activates portions of the unconscious that simple therapy and current medication can not offer; hence, it may give the user insight into their mental instability.

never had a flashback - when I did acid all the time yea I saw tracers on things when I was like partially sober but any ill effects of acid left me shortly after my final trip - I took acid over a period of about 4 years about once a week on average - one time I took 21 hits of some pretty strong stuff and one time 14 hits of some medium strength blotter - LSD is actually one of the safest drugs on the planet and I think its likely one of the least harmfull - there is one major problem for you though buddy: Its that, LSD, Doesn't seem to exist anymore atleast that I am aware of. It was around in the late 90's and very early 2000's after that it appeared only a few times as exceptionally weak and highly cut at super high prices...but I don't think I have even seen that weak stuff in a good 6 or 7 years. So If you are lucky enough that you get the chance to try LSD than DO NOT PASS IT UP - It is IMHO one of the best drugs on the planet, if not the best.

acid is still about in the right circles very good stuff too aswell

i agree with everyone here you dont really get flash backs off acid back when i was hitting it very hard over the space of a few years i used to get minor tracers from ciggeretes as a norm and i found that curtains never seemed to stay compleatly still now im dont take it often all that has disappeared

when i've take salvia and dmt recently i found i had quite profound flash backs after both of them that came and went over the space of a few weeks. now i cant say if it was the salvia or dmt doing it on their own of if it had something to do with all the lsd i have taken i just thought it was worth a mention
