I have low night time temps, and it does give it a purpleing, as low temps will do on all strains (for the most part) the stem is purpleish, the bottoms of the leafs turn the same purple as the stem, But the buds stay green , I been reading on this strain. Mine is a Gem I am thinking, (I am keeping a cutting going forever) I tryed to smoke a joint acouple hours ago :) Dude I am telling you if should be called "BUBBLEBERRY" If someone had this stuff and smoke it with me and told me it was called bubble berry, I would have no doubt in my mind that that is what it is. the more it cures the more like bubblegum it smells and taste.

But everything i read says it is a SUPER STABLE strain, I am thinking I got just a slight varation from the Main ones.

I was just getting the feeling That OTHERS HAD THE SAME PHENO. but they wernt Chimming in. Like i was saying I could't find anybody that had a similar pheno.

cold temps will turn buds purple only on genetics that can express purple flowers in cold temps, actually quite rare in a grow room.

Sorry, I should have been more clear with what i was trying to say, I ment the leaves go purple with colder temps, not the buds,

The out side air is freezing so I can make it as cold as i want.

I wasnt being a dick....buds=flowers^^but I just finished a marijuana chemitry/biohacking course and learned that no part of the leaves will turn purple, regardless of the temperature, unless the plants' genetics have this expression within them, and not all mj genetics have this expression. if it was as easy as temps, we'd have purplys of every strain available. coming soon though, via tissue culture, are every color in the rainbow, just like flowers at the store. it's a simple gene expression available fed ex overnite for in vitro use.

hey noah, I dontunderstand it either, but as a grower, we must fill the demand, hence the interest living on. note: every single purply I grew has been fired from our rotation over three yrs. each was inferior to many available genetics in some way or another, which I suspected may be related to it's "breeding for traits" ancestry? hope that helps

Another "shortcut" to coloring-ing up your buds is to water with lowered water temps in the 50's, you'll have to look it up for the exact range but its in the 50's somewhere. I havent tried this yet but the guys were the "supermods" or whatever they call themselves on THCF I think it was. A couple hydro guys were dropping the res temps to the 50's with their chillers and the dirt baggers were icing their water a little before watering, those were truly some of the most colorful plants I've seen aside from TGA's stuff, I've had never seen a straight up blue plant like that before, the shit looked fake which is what made me start reading about it.

you will find the pink pheno within the first few wks of flowering i run AOS the pink pheno im pretty sure u can find thpics on here just pop a few more I had 2 out of 5 go pink female the green bud is more berry in my opinion but the pink I think is the best all around pheno I also found that temp did nothing to the color of this pink pheno besides making it lighter or darker in color tone

Easy man, smoke a bowl and chill... do you know what "not to offend you" means? First off I wouldn't have given links to others grow journals and tell you about my shit if I was just trying to flame you. Secondly, read your own words.

My comment was only based on that fact that you own words would lead one to believe that you are growing for the approval of others and not for your own satisfaction. There are a lot of people out there that don't want to put the work in and want all the glory. That's why they get a cut and grow it out rather than put the work in. Then all their buddies can stroke their ego.

TGA genetics is some of the best out there and I guarantee if you have any growing skills at all, anything you show your buddies is going to melt their faces.

Good luck with that bud... sounds like a good plan.
This may be a news flash for you, but some states are medical states. Some people within those states are caregivers, growing for terminally ill patients. If one of my terminally ill patients wants something specific, I'm going to do my best to deliver that to him/her. So yeah, sometimes "growing for the approval of others" is kinda relevant, and has nothing to do with "glory" and "ego stroking".

Don't be so judgmental.

Hi there guys here's my opinion. I know not alot of posts but a lot of grows definitely! I too am pheno hunting for The ace right now and I can def tell you there is pheno's that will change colors more than others. Some tall some short some just right some with better buzz than another. This is what it's all about man, that pheno you search for is in there. I popped ten aces and got nine females and flowered out them all so you can imagine how busy I was even gave two to a friend in the circle. My phenos change colors. Although when I went to my buddies his ace of spades was in week 2-3 and was already pink really pink. so you see it's all about selection. anyways That purple your looking for might not have the umph that another pheno has I have one ace that grows so vigorous and looks so diff from the others that I sometimes ask if seed got misplaced but that's the glory of the phenotype. Sub cool may like one pheno where as you find the one you have to be the winner. Also I would and this is just a suggestion you can take it or leave it but try popping more seeds at one time. With no stress and clean plants you should be able to find a KEEPER out of a ten pack of subs gear for sure. you see if you had popped more seeds they all would be finishing close to each other and you could compare notes on them just something to ponder at. I used to run only femms about three years ago single ones at that I know suck right. Well when the strain I wanted wasn't there I had just bought regulars. Well never bought femmed again, you see it is the selection that we are looking for. The ratios of good phenos in subs gear is very high a lot of quality. So to sum it up it's your meds so pick the pheno that makes you happy. Ps I also run plush berry waiting for the fifth lady to come out but the color change is like steps when comparing plant to plant. It seemed like the more seeds I popped the more the phenos changed colors. Ended up saving a real purple changer that has the most relaxing buzz ever some real bedtime stuff you know just what I like for evenings. Hope this helps also may want to pick up a cannabis botany book and learn a little about genetic inheritance.

Ite didnt real through the whole thread but heres my two cents anyways:

After five grows of this wonderful plant, I can narrow it down to three distinct phenos

(I grow in soil under 1 1000 hps and 3 600w hps in 7gal smart pots)

1. Jack the ripper dominant, doesnt really yield hardly anything, but the smell, potency and flavor are out of this world.....stays relatively compact throughout growth....likes to be topped and lst'ed.....
2. Its an inbetween of the two parents....yields the most heavy of the three....smells great, looks very nice and hits very smooth....flavor is a cross between rotten fruit and hickory wood like taste....grew similar to the one above, except had massive colas and a lot more heavy side branches....
3. My favorite of the three, my keeper and one I can say knocks everyone out when I show it to them....BCS pheno!! Turns pink in week 3 of flower and doesn't stop, just like the BCS description in Dank 2.0.....not the heaviest yielder, but solid enough that I can justify keeping it forever! Incredible berry flavor mixed with a hazelnut kind of flavor....with a smell that is out of the world! people cannot believe it when I show it to them the way it stinks! loves to be topped and lst'ed as well, however, grew extremely well as a one branch plant too! Certainly a pheno that melts in your mouth....gosh, cant love this strain enough...

heres some pics of my BCS pheno :)

first pic is first grow, second pic is second time running so on and so on.....last pic is the lastest bud I cropped out that won a local medical taste cup :)...

happy growing ya'll....ace of spades is definitely a keeper for sure! Subcool said it was his favorite at the school of dank held in seattle sometime back 8-)
