im 3 days into seed germination, however, when i plant i dont know what lighting to use until they sprout, ive heard many diff things, does anyone have a good light schedule that has worked for them before sprouting?

i would get some cfls that produce a couple k of lumens on each sprout for about 2-3 weeks or until it gets a couple of nodes then switch it to a mh or hps i have a 400 watt mh for veg right now works very well on 10 plants or so. Also i would keep it on a 24 hours schedule for a few days then its your choice to switch it anywhere between 18/6 23/1 or leave it at 24 if u want

thnx alot i was leaning towards the 18/6 has that worked good for u?

well i keep my seedlings in the same room as i do my clones and mother plants and they stay on 24 hours because i only have 2 40 watt cfls and a 4 foot fluorescent so not that much power but the plants i have vegging are on 18/6 and they look really nice just starting

pics...and btw the one that looks droopy was just watered so it will look better in a couple hours the first one is a pic of an lst plant. first time using that technique liking the results really thick plant that one a month and a half old and the others couple weeks

pics......

thnx for advice im gonna do 24 for seedlings and 18/6 for veggin, i dont have access to much money so im doin 3 plants but ive only got 2 4 ft fluro bulbs and one 70 watt incandescent i hope its enough

just use the fluros they will be enough the incandescent will just heat up the room and may burn ur plant if its to close so best bet use fluros and 2 of them on 3 plants will be enough

nah a nursery is like a place that sells stuff for plants, like i said im new at this, are cfls specifically for plants or are they just regular old lights?

cfl stands for compact fluorescent
its these

please read the growfaq on them before you just go out and buy some random lights.

quick tips: the cool white (blue spectrum) cfls are for vegging and the warm white (red spectrum) are for flowering.

on cfls there are two wattages the equivalent and the actual

on the box it will say 100 watts real giant but if you read it actually says equivalent to 100 watts. make sure you find the actual wattage
