Whats up RIU,

I'm gonna harvest in the next couple days. I have a question about the trimmings. I plan on making BHO, but i wont be able to make it for a few days. Can i put the trim in a black plastic bag and put it in the freezer? Or, do i have to dry it before using it at all?

Thanks guys

u shud let it dry out first then u can put it in the freezer
yep, i just throw my trimmings in a brown paper sac, i stir them daily to prevent mold and premote even drying, after that just store it like you would the nugs; in an airtight light proof container at reasonable temperatures.

i trim after i dry. this makes many things much easier among them is the ability to make bho right away. its also much easier to find the buds shape.

i trim my connoisseur grade buds when there dry, before i cure, this allows them take longer to dry, producing better bud in my opinion, but as is my experience its easier to trim buds when wet, you can move them around more to get a better manicure without rupturing tricomes or accidentally breaking buds down into smaller nugs

tho something occurs to me, chlorophyll present in leaves does affect bho quality, and as we all should know drying and curing removes chlorophyll from the plant matter, so for higher quality bho you might try trimming dry then curing your trimmings before making bho

if it creates better buds then why dont you do it with everything. laziness is not a valid reason. i like to do everything in my power to produce the best end result. dry trimming takes a bit more technique but once you got it down its very simple. when you take short cuts you are shorting yourself.

you are right about chlorophyll in bho. dried product produces better quality and you can fit more in your tube at once which makes refilling the tube easier.

believe me i never short myself, the connoisseur grade buds are for my personal smoke. you call it laziness, but id like to see you spend 5 hours every day trimming buds then tell me im lazy. (yes i have)
and no one should bho wet leaves, of course dry them first, i was merely suggesting taking the long road to drying them ( same as the connoisseur buds) to remove all the chlorophyll before making hash oil

i do this every two weeks. my back a shoulder muscles are crazy from it. nothing like sitting hunched over a table for hours on end. i have a sickness that when i start trimming i cant stop til the entire pile in front of me is done. if it wasnt for the scissor hash and good tunes i would go crazy.

ya i know how you feel i used to trim until my eyes wouldnt focus every day. i had an electric trimming machine, but it just wasnt up to my standards of manicuring (what a waste of money).

i agree those take off as many trichomes as leaves. and they are not cheap either. the spinpro even costs like $500 and you have to hand crank that piece of shit.
