about to harvest some quick questions

I have a plant that i just pulled out of my closet. It has seemingly stopped flowering. Although the other plant, which is 6 days ahead of it, did the same thing and it has started producing bud now again.
the reason i pulled this plant is because, a) i have no bud to smoke, and no money. also there is a fair amount of bud on the plant b) it has so many seeds (its a hermie) and all the hairs are brown (not the thrichs tho) and im sick of having to go in there pulling off pollin sacs with my tweasers. (the other plant in the grow room somehow isnt very much pollinated and only has a very few amount of seeds)

so i just had some questions.

1) after a plant is pollinated, does thc production stop? what about bud production?

2)i was told that i could leave my plants in the dark 24-48 hours and the trichomes would all darken? does this work?

first & foremost.. if your plants r hermie you should keep the seeds for future grows so u wont have 2 buy any!

answer 1) when a plant is in the flowering cycle it will usually go thru 3 explosions of growth. once for the first 2 - 3 weeks, again around week 5 - 6 and during the last 2 weeks of the plants flower cycle is when the buds get their larger size & density! the way tell if your plant is ready to harvest is to use a 30x - 100x jewelers magnifier and when you notice the crystals(trichomes) turn amber on 50% of the bud its ready to b chopped!

answer b) giving the plants 24 - 48 hours of darkness may or may not ripen the buds a tiny bit more. i personally wouldnt do it & if u do decide to make sure you're keeping a fan in the grow space, stagnant air can surround your plants & cause the buds to mold! keep fresh air circulating & u should b all set to try..

just remember to flush your plants soil for the last 2 weeks of the flower xycle to get rid of nutes in the soil.. if u dont flush the soil your buds will b harsh, taste like shit & will give u a headache!

hey thanks. well on the advice you gave me im just gonna chop it today. i have been flushing with water and molasses for about 2 to 3 weeks now. so i should be good to go. i have some clones on the go already. so ill chop this one now. i hate having to buy weed, especially when i have no cash haha. so ill dry for a week, and then cure for another week at least. and i should have some smokables :)
