About to embark on making my own grow tent...

anybody else done this (or seen posts that would help me?). I have got the pvc tubing (for the frame) and niffty 3 way (ooer!) corner bits that are the almost the exact same as the ones found in secretjardin's etc. Also have thick black out material and mylar for the inside. When it comes to fans, bathroom vents have 4/5" circular adapters which are perfect.
Im stuck when it comes to the door. I would like a magnetic door, but struggling to find a solution...might need to make do with velcro...buts its noisey.

Bascially, if I could hear/read how other people done theirs...I might make less mistakes (learn from others n all that).

Cheers folks...all advice, suggestions links welcome!

Dude that's exactly how my set up is ( with the pvc and panda poly, ect....) I have a WW in full flower and so far everything's great. Any questions, please feel free to ask or PM.

I made one and I'll never do that again; it was a lot more expensive than I thought it was going to be and took about 8 hours to build it. I made a killer one out of plywood and probably didn't cost but a little more and didn't take as long to build and I never had to worry about smell or light leaks. Just my 2 pesos.

I built mine for less than 50 bucks. I live in a rented house and the really great thing about using PVC is that as long as you don't glue it together, its easy as hell to take down and move and rebuild if necessary. The plastic helps hold it together so gluing it isn't necessary. I found out at 8am that my landlord had to come out for an assessment inspection, so I took it down, stashed the plants in my outside shed until she was gone, then rebuilt it again. It took me about 30 minutes to tear it down and maybe 90 minutes at most to rebuild. LOL I love my PVC tent and have absolutely no regrets.

Well, after weeks of waiting my corner parts arrived...they are too big. Bitchin. Im wondering if it would be a good idea to tape up the ends of the pvc pipes to make it a snug fit...otherwise I will need to bin them and start again.

Zipper is ordered, good find...perfect for what I need it for.

So, any of you guys fancing post up some pics...I would like to see how you cut/taped up the strips of materials need to make walls etc.

As always, appreciate the input...very helpful.

You say the corner parts are too big? Are you sure the PVC tubing is PVC and NOT CPVC? PVC is white in color whereas CPVC is an ivory or yellowish color. PVC pipe is also slightly larger in diameter than CPVC and that could be the reason the corners are not fitting. If you do have CPVC instead of PVC, you can still use it by attaching a CPVC coupling into the corner, then attaching your CPVC pipe into that coupling. It fits like a glove.
Another alternative (if you do have CPVC), is to ditch that and buy real PVC instead. It is quite a bit stronger than CPVC and doesn't flex nearly as much. Take a corner fitting along when you go to buy the PVC to match the size.

Nope, I had a look...but thanks for your suggestion. I didnt know you could get couplings, so I will bring the bits down to my local hardware store and see if I can find a cheapo solution.

Once its done, I will try post up some pics...all the bits would suggest its gonna be perfect for the size (pics will explain more)
