? About Starting First TGA Grow

Hello RIU members,

Got my first pacs of TGA the other day, unfortunately Rip City had a very limited selection as most of the TGA gear was sold out, but I was able to obtain a 5 pack of the Apollo 13 BX and Space Bomb. I felt glad to get these ,as from reading it seems that these are some of Sub's favorite smoke, so hopefully I will be able to get a'hold of some high resin dankness. My question that I have is has anyone ever tried mainlining these two strains? Just wondering if they might be good candidates for this type of growing technique, so if anyone has experience with these techniques i'd love to know if they would fit into a mainlining grow method.

Thanks,

Snap

The only person (that I know of) that has all that experience is nugs. He has said all strains are viable some just more than others. Space bomb is sativa dom (I think) so it will be a bit diff I assume.

Both are super sativas. But they should work great mainlined. See the pic of Nugs mainlined Vortex? Should be real similar to that. Id say go for a 16 or 32 head.

I saw that he had done with with a "modular scrog", but I had not seen any pics of one that was just mainlined. I'll go back and have a look, thanks for your input. I was thinking i'd probably just go for a 8 headed mainline for my first go. Thanks for contributing!

i think it was mainlined though... But thing is, is they are just sooo branchy, that it seems like you need to give them a little extra, just so they're happy. Plus, at least with the apollo, you almost need some sort of netting, just to keep her branches up. At least thats how it is with my A13 dom Vortex. Ether way, you have some dank bean bro. And your in the right forum, and on the right track. Golden! lol

Sweet, yea i'm real excited about the beans. Can't wait to start learning about phenotypes and genetic expression. I just put my first plants into flower with my first batch of SS, based on the recipe that sidewing provided a few months back. Clones of Durban Poison, white widow, P91, and Bulldog. Seems that all of them have PM issues, so I won't be taking any clones, just wanna warm up with a practice grow before I start my first TGA grow. Using a DR120 with a 600 watt, so just trying to learn the best way to run this in my house during this first grow to get my scene dialed in, and then hopefully kicking some ass with my first TGA cultivation. Thanks, and your scrog grows are very exciting to see, great to see another OMMP patient kicking ass with some scottyballs inspired stuff (that was the first thread I read when I came on RIU). Thanks and happy growing!

Whooooaahh friend! If all your plants have PM issues, imho, you need to scrape them asap! It will be hard to keep that off the buds, and it will stay with them. Smoking PM is BAD as hell for you. Worse yet, you are contaminating your room, in which you are going to be bringing in your TGA gear. I know it sucks, but the longer you keep plants with PM in your garden space, the worse its going to be for you. I learned that lesson the HARD way... imho, ditch your plants asap, get or borrow a sulfer burner, smoke the hell out of your room, then clean everything with bleach, more then once... At least your not way into flower, so not too much time lost. But PM is not the way you want to begin your growing experience. Still, i know, its a hell of a bummer, but PM will HAUNT and PLAGUE you...

Is this what I should do even if the PM is just small spots on lower leaves? It's not like it is all over all the plants, just a few small spots of it on leaves here and there, which I then pick off. I've also been spraying DR. Earth fungicide whenever I see a little bit of it on any of the leaves. It's basically just been on the Durban Poison clones I got, and i've only seen it on lower leaves. Relative humidity is around 50-55% and temps during lights on go from around 73 min-77 max, and it stay around the low 70s during lights off.

the thing about mold is that even tho its just here and there....they are releasing millions of spores that are penetrating pretty much every area of your grow. they are infesting the walls everywhere....so when you do start your next grow without a proper scrub down those plants can likely get infected. especially with those nice cool conditions and sorta high humidity.

Is it worth it to try and just control it for now, until this first run is done flowering and then do a cleaning before starting my next plants flowering?

i cannot speak to whether or not you should continue with your current grow or scrap it. as long as you do a thorough cleaning of your room your next grow will have a better chance of not getting infected. in regards to your pm issues only you can decide whether or not those plants are viable and if you are willing to use the end product.

Well they have only been flowering for 1 week, so I guess I will let them go for a little longer and see if it can be controlled. If it just keeps spreading i'll scrap them. Basically, I think I just need to buy a portable HEPA filter and a small dehumidifier for the tent.
