? about LSTing

Just a quick ? about LSTing.....would it work if i used a long rectangular pot, transplanted at one end and LST the entire length of the pot....around 36"? My lights are mounted in a 3 foot hood, would cover it completly...thanks!

The pot shape would probably inhibit the growth if anything. Roots grow out and down.

Train your plant how you want dude, have fun with it but take your time.

I did LST on all my plants and they turned out great - make sure the pots are deep enough for the roots because i dont know how fast they will grow sideways

I think i will try it next go around.....maybe one at each end, lst towards each other....found some pots at Lowes...18" wide....24" deep and 36" long, just looking to get better light penetration using CFLs....thanks again guys.

Yea that would work butaplant that is vegged for awhile and flowered will be far longer than 36 inches.

If you knot twine on the stems and such make sure you don't girdle them. I've lst'ed 50 plants at a time many times and I've often forgotten to untie the twine and create a bigger loop. If the stem grows too big the twine will pinch the stem slowing the passage of nutrients in the stem. Although I did have one plant that I had this happen to...he was a beast and his stem ate the twine. He literally ate it. The stem got so big that the twine cut into it and the plant healed over it, leaving a lump in the stem. I was shocked.
