About how much will a 2foot plant stretch after switch to 12/12

OK, I have done a lot of research, and have seen many different answers. First off My plants are about 2 feet maybe a little bigger from soil to top, I have FIMMed exactly a week ago and am going to flower next week. my only worry is if I wait much longer they might grow into the light. I have about enough froom for them to get to 3and half to four feet. I have done some LST training but not much. This is my first grow and I am debating if I should switch them now and not give them the full 2 weeks to heal after FIM cut, or let them go another week or so and pray they dont stretch to the light. My grow is in a closet and I have made top half for vegging new plants, and bottom half for flowering. So basically will a 2 foot plant grow to more then 4 feet after switching over to flowering? or about how much growth can I expect. They are about 5 weeks old or so atm.

put some screws in side of yr pot, and get large twist ties and tie down the branches...you can pull the tallest ones out, and it'll utilize yr unused side space. bush it out. then if a branch starts growing to high, pull it down. simple enough.

i would go ahead and continue to veg as you planned. i started out growing in a simular setup, and got nice results. it took some getting used to learning how to grow short, and wide. its more of a challenge to grow short IMO. letting it grow apical, doing its own thing would be nice, but not everyone has unlimited vertical space. If there is usable horizontal space, use it.

With the strain comments out of the way, how much you want to be fiddling with ties and lst or topping?

If you do want to lst and go a few extra weeks, I would highly advise you get a net or small tomato trellis, otherwise its going to be a cobweb of twist ties and a never ending battle of tying stems down. Net is about 3 bucks, tomato trellis about 5 bucks. You will thank your self...trust me.

If not, than I would flower in a week (now would be even better), with the space and setup you have. Expect another 2 feet probably with those lights due to stretch. She'll be about the size of the mylar on the wall you got there when its all said and done.

Probably also need to get a few more floods in their too...or even a 400 watter. I understand its a closet and heat is an issue. With the floods you got and a 400 you would do nicely in that size space. Put a thick dark black curtain over the door span to keep the light from coming out and some air coming in.

This too, you have tons of vertical to work with.

Thank u smegpot. I use cfls for side lighting. I juzt built top pRt of closet so they not set up yet. I have wood going acroos the whole top but im worried if yop half is vegging and a little light sneKs into flower room it will screw the flowering plants up right? Or can they deal with a small amount of light and be ok during dark hours

No, I already did the FIM almost two weeks ago. I switched the lighting over to 12/12. As you can see in my setup the top part of closet are babies that are getting 18/6. If a small amount of light sneaks through into the area of the flowering plants, will it mess it up. No light is actually hitting the plants, but a very small amount of lights sneaks into the dark room. Will they still be able to flower ok?

Use what space you have to its full potantial. I would scrog them babies. Build a screen for scrog then continue to veg as planned. You will increase the light foot print and spread it evenly over canopy. Personaly I scrog as I have height issues, I get higher yeilds plus them little would-be popcorn buds get access to premium light. Newbie on this site, still trying to find my feet.
