A third major political party?

So I keep hearing from the disenfranchised that the two party system has let them down.

We have leftover 2016 Bernie Babies who continue to imply they won't vote Dem next year unless it's Bernie.

Yesterday on the Smerconish program, with Howard ShuItz as guest, polled viewers:

74% agreed.
26% (including myself) disagreed.

74% better be damn careful what they wish for.

If a third party can gain enough support to actually win states, then what?

In 1968, after MLK and RFK were shot (as well as after the Civil Rights and Voting Rights acts were passed), former racist Democrat Gov. George Wallace of Alabama left the party and ran on his fake Law and Order Party. It was an obvious segregationist racist party that carried the south and 46 electoral votes. These states then went republican ever since.

Do you know what happens if a third party truly emerges and no candidate gets 270 electoral votes?

It goes to the house to decide. Each state delegation gets 1 (one) vote. 50 total votes. They will pick the POTUS.

The senate picks the VP.

Anybody think that's a good idea?

I have no problem with the two party system, except for the other party who elects racist jackasses for POTUS.

Thanks for voting for Trump you bunch of racist enabling wingnut fools. And why do the Democrats have to clean up the swamp again?

Your welcome, and with the current crop of candidates out there, we're about to do it twice!
We have a dozen people who can beat a racist.

Do you have any idea the negative ads we can run just showing Trump talking?

You can't win minorities, you can't win women, you can't win Jews, who you got left? 7% of your white support will die in the next 18 months.

You act like it's going to be easy. That's good. Keep thinking that.

Oh, and you're kind of feckless. Hiding in the background liking shit posts all the time. Loser.

One excellent solution to the two party problem is ranked choice voting.

It's being tried around the country. I'm sure official resistance to it will grow as its effectiveness and resistance to subversion becomes clear.

Would you be willing to have one of the choices be, "no thank you, I don't want anybody" ?

I'm sure as the effectiveness of this grows there could be "official resistance".

I like ranked choice voting. If you don’t like any of the choices, don’t vote.

And I don’t think we should be too dismissive of the House of Representatives picking a President, they definitely would not have picked drumpft had they made the choice in 2016. Can’t say that about voters.

So the Bernie or bust thing is still going on? I will admit I did not vote for anyone in 2016 but that is changing in 2020. The Bernie or bust movement could very well help Trump in 2020 do you Bernie bros not understand this or do you even care? Even Bernie himself said he will support the Democratic nominee if it's not him.

Go live in the forest, and don't ask for any help from anyone.

And no internet, either.

Freeloader.
The problem isn't with people asking for help.
The problems are created when you don't ask and don't want any "help" and others insist you do etc.

Having another option of choosing who will run your life for you is just a shinier hamster wheel. You can't get to freedom or peace that way.

Having "more choices" when the predetermined outcome of the larger issue is cast in stone, is like getting to chose what color underwear you will wear to your execution.

Oh look, now you get to chose going "commando" ! Such innovation!

A personal attack is a poor substitute for an argument, bonehead.
You never, not one fucking time, have ever argued honestly about anything here.

Never. You make up shit in a nonexistent uptopian tax and government free world and...

You're basically a liar.

But you have no problems with deflection and name calling though.

Or with putting up signs against minorities.

I've never put up any sign advocating for racial discrimination and would not knowingly do business with any idiot who did.

That doesn't mean I have any right to tell the idiot how he must use his own property. You seem to have a prohibitionist outlook and believe you have rights that you don't possess.

And you never said a 12 year old can consent to sex either.

You just imply your horrible bullshit.

You're special kind of eerie peculiar, no wonder you're a pariah here.
