A seed only born with round leaves?

Ok, so my newest sprout, has been growing for the past few days. There are no real leaves other than the embryonic cotyledons. so wtf? is my plant mutated, or did I stunt it somehow? Will it grow right? it seems to be getting a little taller, and its under 2 100w cfls.. just watered this morning.

What could it have been? I just dropped the seed in the soil, because I heard it germinates like 10hrs faster and is the cleanest way to do so. Friend gave me the advice.

Ok, I've been here several times there's a few things to check: 1) lights -how many lumens are your lights producing and are they far or close to the seedlings. 2) Water - are the roots getting enough water consistantly throughout the day. 3) Most of the time everything is fine. The seedling stage seems to me to take the longest because instead of working on growing leaves it's concentrating on it's root system. So check out the first two and if everying is cool, then look at number 3.

3200 Lumens, I watered it this morning, about 6oz of water... should I use root stimulator? How can I check the roots without having to pull it up causing trauma to the plant?

The plant has no use for lumen's. They require PAR, (Photosynthetically Active Radiation). Lumen's or Lux is a measurement of brightness as perceived by the human eye, this would be in the center of the light spectrum. PAR comes from the lower and upper ends of the light spectrum. Lumen's and Lux are measured with a light meter, there are rather expensive meters available to measure PAR.
Good luck and good grow.......BB
